Fantasmic! Scary??? dinner first??

I have yet to see Fantasmic. Now I have read it could be scary for younger children. Although My children dont scare too easily BUT they are not fearless. Would it be too Frieghtening for them?
They are 8, 5 and a very brute 3 year old boy.

Also My husband Is very impatient when It comes to long lines and rude people. Would it be worth for me to do the reservation at the melrose thingie, so we can get preffered seating?

I also heard that although they seat you with out waiting the seats stink. Any truth to that???

My 4 year old liked Fantasmic and he was a little afraid of some of the more intense rides.

We were there in October and it was not too much trouble to get a seat. They do tell you where to sit and we were off to the far left but did not think the seats were too bad.

Hope this helps.

My now 9 year old (8 when we last went to the Greatest Place On Earth) said "I like it(Fantastic) even though they have a scary dragon- it's cool!" My now 6 year old says "It was cool!!" Hope this helps.
We do the dinner and get to use the reserved seats from the Fantasmic dinner package. Last time we ate at Prime time 50's I believe. It was ok. Next time I want to try Mama Somethings.

We have always taken our little kids, and they have always enjoyed it. I would suggest against the fantasmic dinner package unless you are going during a busy time. With the package, you still have to be in the theater at least 30 minutes prior to show time or they give your seats away. We always just show up about a half an hour before and have no problem getting good seats.

dinner and show

My husband and I did the dinner and a show at MGM. That was definately worth it.

Word to the wise if you want to videotape it... DONT sit in the front. It's a splash zone.
When the wind picked up, water from the show drenched us and our videocamera, making it a miserable learning experience.

Charlene,

A couple of thoughts...

My 2 year old was terrified of Fantasmic last year, but it was pretty easy to predict. She reacted poorly to other dark and loud shows/attractions.

We did the Fantasmic Dinner package, and I would recommend it for the really busy times. The seats - to the far right - weren't great, but I certainly wouldn't say they stink.

Bruce

:) Just my .02 worth.
We were at WDW in Dec. We decided at the last minute to go see Fantasmic. We did not have to wait in line, we got great seats ( a little farther away from the heat of the fire, but close enough to feel it). So, we did not do the dinner package.
I got wonderful video from where we were sitting.
So, I don't think you need the dinner seating.

By the way, my boys were 8 and 5 when we went.
They loved it!!!
So did I! You can hear me on the video...OOOOHHHH, AAAHhhh...wow look at the fireworks!

Have a great time.
Lisa

Hi,
Did Fantasmic in Nov., and yes we did do the dinner package at MAMA Melrose. Dinner was good , but quite pricey. I guess if your DH doesn't like standing in line, a dinner package is a good idea. Just remember that when the show is over you leave with the rest of the crowd. Although, it's not that bad!!!
As far as the show being scarey, I really don't think it's that bad. You could give it a try, and if you see the children are frightened , you would always be able to leave.
It is a good show, but when it first started we stood in line, and then waited almost 90 minutes for the show to actually begin. I remember they had a pre show to keep the audience from going crazy, and also someone always starts that famous "WAVE"!!! I think if you've never seen it you should at least see it once. Have fun and enjoy!!!!!!!!

My kids love it. They have seen it twice. The first time they were 3 and 5! They had a blast!:)
