Has anybody seen this movie??? DD had a sleep-over and the movie she wanted wasn't in, so I talked her into this. I've only seen it once before when it first came out, and it was hysterical. I noticed last night that it is a Disney Movie.

It's based on a true story about the 1988 Jamaican Bobsled Team, and it s just so funny. I remember watching them in the 1988 Olympics and all my friends and I got a kick out of the fact that Jamaica actually was participating in the winter Olympics. Apparently the makers of the movie found it just as funny as we did. They did a great job with it.

The great part is I now own it. Our video store has a huge section of older movies that are for rent, or to buy. To rent is $3.50, to buy the same DVD is $4.95, so if I think it's something we'll want to see again I'll buy it.

I saw the movie years ago, but we haven't seen it in a long time. I remember thinking it was pretty good. I wish our video store would offer deals like that. Congratulations on getting a good deal on a good movie.

Feel the rhythm, feel the ride...

I'd seen it years ago (like 10 years ago). Then it ended up being one of the movies we took on a service project trip to watch on the busses when I was working with high schoolers in Switzerland. One of the busses got lost somewhere in Italy and the poor kids got really tired of that movie! After that, every time someone mentioned Cool Runnings, everyone just groaned!

Feel the Rythm, Feel the Ride, Get on Up, It's Bobsledding Time . . . Cool Runnings!!

Actually, I watched part of it again during my run on the treadmill earlier today (too humid to run outside). It's it not only funny but amazingly inspirational too - I love movies like that. The kids are asking how much of it is fact vs. made-for-the-movie. I need to find a book on their story to learn more.

Cool Runnings is one of our favorites! I love the "prayer" by Irv (John Candy):

I LOVE this film! Its classical Disney comedy! The casting is superb and the story is just genious! If you havn't seen it go out and find it! Because it's a pretty old film now you can get it on VHS or DVD relatvly cheap, I think I picked it up for around £5 a while back.

Maybe it isn't as cheap as I thought, Amazon has it for $15 new but form $6 used!
