Sorry if this has already been posted but this is the first I've heard of this. I can't wait to see it.

Tim Burton to make 3-D "Alice in Wonderland"

Tim Burton has signed a deal with the Walt Disney Co. to direct and produce 3-D movies based on Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland" and his own short film "Frankenweenie."

The "Alice" adaptation, combining live-action and performance-capture technology, will start shooting in early 2008.

Burton will then start work on a full-length version of his 1984 cult favorite "Frankenweenie," about a pet dog who is brought back to life by his loyal owner in a very unusual way. The film will be shot in stop-motion animation.

Burton is putting the finishing touches on the Johnny Depp musical "Sweeney Todd," which DreamWorks/Paramount will release domestically next month.

My boys love Tim Burton movies, especially NBC. They will love to see these too I'm sure.

He always makes the characters from a unique perspecitve, I think he should model the Queen of Hearts after one of my co-workers.

I adore Tim Burton! Alice in Wonderland is freaky enough, I can't wait until Burton gets a hold of it, talk about freaky deaky.

Tim Burton can bring a lot to this.

Haven't seen anything bad that he's done.

But still, it's gonna be tough to replace the original.. (even if it had parts of Through the Looking Glass)

That would be absolutely amazing! Tim will do a great Job, but I wonder won't it kind of take away from the original disney movie?
