Re: Tinker Bell.

It was really cute, and I bet it will be a big hit with children. And with the different kind of fairies I am sure they pull of many more installments.

I understand the story & explanation of the whole thing. I TOTALLY get that I am being 'fairydusted' into their world & that's why I can hear Tink b/c I am in Pixie Hollow. I get the whole thing BUT.... she just will never look like the classic Tink to me. Not to mention this whole CGI image of her, it's just not right to me, it looks different & I just love the original.

Re: Tinker Bell.

I think I have to agree with both views. It is directed more to children obviously, but the children today have really only been exposed to the new CGI. I admit I'm not a big fan of it either, but if that's really all they know, they can't miss the good ol' stuff.

But, in response to the actual original post, I will not be seeing it. Not my cup of tea. Plus, no time or money - I'm in college

That makes a lot of sense, Jen. I guess we really should trust Disney to do it up right, right!?
I still am not interested in seeing the movie but I am going into the M&G with an open mind

Re: Tinker Bell.

We watched the movie last night and my kids loved it! I thought it was odd to see a CGI Tink but they did not mind. My son laughed the loudest and he is my oldest at 11!!! He told me last night before bed he really enjoyed watching it b/c there was no scary stuff in it-just fun. Thanks Disney-that is why I love you...

Glad to hear that it appealed to an older boy. I have to admit that my 13 y.o DS watched it too. He hasn't commented on it though.

Re: Tinker Bell.

Ok....I finally sat down and watched last night. It was really cute and the best part is that my DD (the 4 year old) LOVES it. She is actually dressing up as Tink for halloween and was super excited to see the movie. It is definitely a bit different than I would imagine her, but they throw in some Peter Pan tie ins at the very end which were really sweet. I quite enjoyed it, but it definitely does change her up a bit.

Re: Tinker Bell.

i bought "Tinker Bell" on Tuesday during my lunch break and finally got to watch it today. it is soooo cute. i loved the whole story of how tinker bell became the lovable fairy we know today. all week at work, the girls in my class asked me what i was going to be for halloween. i told them tinker bell and they would immediately respond with, "I got that movie!!" And I would reply back, "Me, too!!" it is so cute. i absolutely loved it!!

It not the size that bothers me, it's the concept. Chip & Dale were never created to be mysterious flicks of light, they were playful chipmunks. They still are serving their original character. To me, Tinker Bell has been watered down, re-vamped, re-imaged and isn't the same character that once was. The size thing never bothered me.

Re: Tinker Bell.

I have to admit I'm eager to see the movie. I didn't grow up in love with Tinkerbell, in fact I kind of thing she's PMS-y all the time. BUT, from the perspective of a lover of the original story, she was meant to be that way; Barrie explained that fairies are so small, they only have room for one emotion at a time. Thus, joy = at its fullest, and anger = at its worst.

But I digress. I'm eager to see the movie because I didn't grow up terribly enamored with her, only in the last couple years did I grow a soft spot for cute little fairies in general. When I first saw the trailer I thought it would be a horrible thing, but I'm kind of easing up on them for it. I'm a sucker for 2D, but in their defense their 3D is looking better everytime, the voice cast looks fantastic, and...yeah. My two cents!

I'm leary of the talking Tink, but her voice actor was also Katara from "Avatar" fame, so I can't complain too much!

I guess I'm just picking my battles carefully.
