Re: Up!
I really hope my theater offers the non-3D option. I don't mind a 10-minute 3D attraction, but any longer gets annoying.

Re: Up!
i saw "Up" yesterday and absolutely loved it!!! i love dug. he was just too funny. when i first saw that clip of him doing the squirrel bit, i laughed all night long. i thought it was such a sweet movie about life, love, loss, friendship and family. what a wonderful message and who better to get that message out there than Disney. excellent job disney and pixar. you've done it again!!!

Re: Up!
I saw it!!! Not in 3D... I don't think seeing it non-3D ruins anything. But omg, what a HEAVY Pixar movie!!! The first 10 minutes in and I was nearly sobbing.
It was cute, touching, funny, etc. etc. - all those wonderful emotions Pixar always gives us - but for some reason I left without the "I must buy this the moment it hits DVD!!!" feeling that I usually get from Pixar. Wall-E, Ratatouille, and Finding Nemo still top my list.

Re: Up!
Our kids saw it yesterday with grandparents, but they haven't really said that much about it. I guess since they've already seen it and weren't all that excited about it, I'll just wait for the DVD.

Re: Up!
Oh my goodness, I sobbed my eyes out. What an incredible film. My boys really enjoyed it, including my DH. There were, however, a number of crying and scared children when we saw it. I think the dogs proved to be too much for some.

Re: Up!
Voldemort and I saw this last night. Even though the uncomfortable seats usually keeps me away from our local theater, it was worth the visit. Not at all what I was expecting, and in the end it was a definate surprise movie full of tenderness and happyz..
DESPITE the Pete Doctor ripoffs from Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars.. For the most part, Pete is 2/2. (He did Monsters, Inc.)

Re: Up!
Ok. Saw this on Friday night with my two nieces (6&4) and LOOOOOVED it. All weekend we have been talki-SQUIRREL!
We saw it in 3D, but I'm not sure how much more vivid it was than the other option. The 4 year old watched the last 1/2 without the glasses and didn't seem to have any trouble. Not too fuzzy apparently. |

Re: Up!
I guess it's all in the eye of the beholder?
![]() As Russell was sliding to his doom, I mentioned to Volde that this had Empire Strikes Back written all over it.. ![]() The (tie) fighters colliding with each other touched a nerve, I suppose.. Guess I'm too much of a purest geek to know the difference ![]() I have yet to see a "bad" Pixar film, and regret not getting involved after seeing Tin Toy, the short animation when I was in law school.. But as I said, it takes a pixar movie to get me to suffer through the most uncomfortable seats ever designed..

Re: Up!
We are talking taking our DD to see this tomorrow after my doctor's appointment. I am glad to see that it is getting great reviews! We will probably see the non 3-D version since our DD doesn't seem to like 3-D too well just yet.
