But as I said, it takes a pixar movie to get me to suffer through the most uncomfortable seats ever designed..

HEhE!! I had a feeling you were thinking of that scene. Did you notice Star Wars was playing at the movie theater?

Me and DD are waiting for it to come to Demand...I rarely go to the theaters any more. It's just not a fun experience for me.

Re: Up!

I just got back!!! LOVE it!

We ended up seeing the 3D version by accident. Well, my sister picked the movie, and she didn't know they offered a 2D version (she would've chosen this). However, the 3D was great - nothing over the top. It really just gives the screen dimension, instead of popping things in your face.

I did cry three times... twice in the first half hour, then again near the end. Ah, but it was a great movie!

I love the direction Pixar is moving in - the movies with less dialogue. It's sort of like the shorts. I'm reading Bob Thomas's Walt Disney biography, right now, and I recently stumbled across the section where Walt visits Europe for his tenth anniversary with Lilly (with Roy and Edna) and realizes how big his pictures are over there, encouraging the studio to produce more pictures without dialogue so that the foreign market can enjoy them.

Re: Up!

It's funny, I feel the same way about this movie that I did about "Cars" and "Wall-E". I really didn't have that much interest in seeing either one of them, went and saw them and loved em both. I know I'm going to go and see it in the theatre and I'm probably going to love it, but it doesn't really grab me like some of the other Pixar films did.

Re: Up!

Just came back from seeing "Up". I agree, it was great. Lots of adult humor! Did anyone see the hidden mickeys? One scene where the balloons are over the house, they form a mickey head, and another the window latch looks like one! So I'm sure there are more if a person really looked. can't wait till it comes out on video, this will definitely be a "must buy"

Re: Up!

Went to see UP the other day. My wife cried through the entire (yes entire) movie. She was very close to her grandfather and it Carl is nothing short of an exact caricature of him. It's actually quite eerie.

I think this is the best movie Pixar has made. I said that of the last one and will probably be saying it after the next release. They are simply amazing. Disney should be kissing Pixars (ahem) feet and give them carte blanche on anything and everything they want to do. They should throw endless amounts of money towards this studio. Dreamworks? In their dreams.

That being said. Visit Yahoo! reviews of UP and click on "reviews by lowest grade" OMG! Some people just don't get it. Yes it was sad. But in a very bittersweet, nostalgic and sentimental way. Nobody was crying because it was tragic.

GO SEE UP!!!!

Same here, we saw it in NON 3D, we both wear glasses and wearing 3D glasses over regular glasses really don't work. Contact lenses are not an option, we are too blind I guess

BTW the movie was great, as is all Pixar movies and yes we both had wet eyes at least one time or another.
