animated movies list
i'm looking to complete my disney animated movie collection sometime in the near future. I have close to 40 movies right now. now, what i'm looking for is the complete list of disney animated movies starting from the first one, of course being snow white and the seven dwarfs, all the way up to brother bear. to make this easier, i'm looking for the movies that were released in theaters, all the classics. if there's some website that'll help me out, i would really appreciate it if i'm pointed in the right direction. i just want to find this list so i know how many more movies i have left to complete my collection. it will also make selecting movies from the disney movie club easier for me. thank you to all that respond.

I'm sorry I can't help you with a list but I have TONS of Disney videos and I'm thinking of switching to DVD. I haven't decided if I can talk myself out of my original VHS videos though. But just a thought, I might be interested in selling most if not all of mine in the next few months. I can make a list of the ones I have if you can't find a list anywhere else. I know I don't have them all but I think I have a good many of them.

Hi! The best place I've found is www.ultimatedisney.com. They not only give you many lists of animated films, live action films, direct to video (or dvd) films and made for television films, they guide you in what you might want to stay away from, such as pan and scan releases. They also have lists of upcoming releases, including some with artwork, and keep this fairly well updated as we all know how often Disney changes their mind on release dates. Hope this helps!

Great suggestion, barbara.Welcome to DC.
In addition, tragic, see if your local store or Library has the book, "The Disney Films" by Leonard Maltin (of Entertainment Tonight). Leonard is a huge Disney fan and movie reviewer, and his book is a great way of finding out the story, as well as the story behind the story, of every single one of Disney's movies. It's updated regularly. I'm not sure if the current edition goes up to Brother Bear, but you are young enough to remember which were the last five or so releases, right? I used this book as an invaluable source of Disney Back history about a decade ago when I watched every single Disney movie that was available at that time, in order over the course of a couple of months. It was fascinating to watch how animation developed (or stayed the same) over the course of time). At that time I relied on a myriad of either VHS , laserdiscs, Disney channel, or even a local museum showing of the movies. (Fortunately I wasn't in any rush - this took months). I've almost replaced most of the VHS version, and have begun archiving my wonderful Laser disc box sets (Would you believe in those days a boxed set of Lasers was over 100 dollars! I think Pinocchio was something like 80 dollars when I bought it! Can I get my money back, now, please? :)
