Disney Rewards Card

I got my Disney Reward Card today!!! I almost sent it through the paper shredder thinking it was another credit card offer. Even after I opened it I didn't know what it was until I read the paper that came with the card. I saw the Mickey arm but it just didn't sink in. I now have $200 of free money to spend in the parks.

My trip is coming together, I have my AP voucher, my DDE letter in case my card doesn't come, and now my rewards card is here.

Great news!!
Love those rewards cards. I had two on the last trip for 65 and 75 dollars and they came in really handy. We used them as souviner money.

I think we (I) will use the $200 as spending money as well. I was surprised that he card doesn't expire until December 2006. Does that mean I have until then to use the points or do they expire sooner than the card?

As far as I know you have untill then to completely use up the card. Even if there is one-dollar left on there it should be good till December 06.

I know you can also re-fill the same card. But I always order new ones.

Thanks! For some reason I thought I would have until December 2005 to use the points. It's great to have an extra year. The last time I use reward dollars I got the nice gold embossed certificates and I had to use them at the place I requested them for. This seems much better and more flexable.

Will I earn Disney Rewards dollars on the trip I just paid off (on Disney Visa, of course), or don't trips qualify for rewards? I hope so, that would make for a nice fat rewards card to take with.

You will get reward dollars for trips like any other charge.

Just ordered our rewards card. I hope it comes quick I am using the points for our trip next year. I have the reservations made now they are waiting on the deposit.

The rewards card is different form the credit card. Once you order the rewards card you only have so long to use the points or you lose them so don't call and ask for your points until you are pretty close to using them.

Its not really an issue. We're going to end up putting all our points into the trip. Heck it pays for almost half of our package!

How long has it taken some of you to receive your rewards card once you requested it?
FYI for those that need this info: I read that once you used all your points on your reward card not to throw it away because you can refill the card with more reward dollars when you earn them (if you want).

My statement doesn't drop until Thursday(when I can request the rewards card) and we will only have 16 days till we leave so I hope we get them that quickly too.
