Disney Vacation on Disney Visa Question.

Could you essentially use your Disney Visa to book your trip - Pay it off - and accumulate points on the purchase. If thats the case it creates another little discount doesn't it - Though only $20-$40 Disney Dollars it is something.

We picked our card up when they first came out looking to use the points every 5 years for a trip. As of right now we have enough points to pay for a value resort for a week just in time for our annivesary trip next year.

Re: Disney Vacation on Disney Visa Question.

I just signed up for the card and booked my vaction on it. I have to wait until the first statement drops before I can request my reward dollars. I hope they come before my vacation (end of July). If not I will just use them in a disney store or online. I kinda thought of it as a extra bonus or discount too.
I haven't thought about saving up my dollars for a future vacation. That is a wondeful idea. I was just going to get rid of the card when it was paid for. Now I might keep it and get rid of my other one. I hate the variable rate though. Whoohoo! Now I am looking forward to another vacation in 5 years.

I do this every year and use the points for spending money at the parks.

BeSunny - I can't say I am proud of the fact my wife has managed to spend $60k on a credit card to earn us $600 Disney Dollars. I'm grateful we've been able to pay it off but we use the card for EVERYTHING.

She has a Tareget Card I am trying to get her to give up but every $1000 they send you a 10% coupon.

Re: Disney Vacation on Disney Visa Question.

I too use the card for EVERYTHING!! I just write each purchase down in my checkbook like I were using a debit card and make one big payment to the visa at the end of the month. It's worked great for me!!

Re: Disney Vacation on Disney Visa Question.

I have paid off a vacation and then used the points for that trip. It did give us a little discount that was nice. I am going to do the same thing with our tickets this week.

I requested my points for the first time since Disney Visa switched to the credit card type reward card and it came in less than a week. I was shocked at how fast it came. I almost threw it away because I thought it was another silly credit card offer.

Re: Disney Vacation on Disney Visa Question.

I was suprised at how fast I got my card. I was told it would take 30 days to be processed and it came in the mail 1-1/2 weeks later. I hope I get my rewards that quickly so I can use them on this trip.
Laneysdad- I wish I could say I didn't have a credit card balance too but I guess most of us do and we might as well earn something for it.
This morning I found out my debit card had been cancelled because it was one of the accounts that were stolen this week in Atlanta. Now I might use my credit card and just pay it at the end of the month like landry does. At least if they got my number and used it I wouldn't be short in my checking account. Yep, Disney might be my new best friend.
