0% Financing and Reward Dollars
Hi all,
I have 2 questions. I want to book one of the Stay, Play and Dine packages for fall and use my Disney Visa. Is this package eligible for the 0% financing for 6 months? Has anyone booked a trip and gotten the 0%. Also, will I still get the 0% if I use some of my accumulated Disney Reward Dollars towards the trip or do I have to charge the whole thing to get the 0%? Thanks for your help! Karen

Karen
Yes, it is eligible for the 0%. Any package booked through Walt Disney Travel Company (through a travel agent counts as well, as long as they book it through WDTC) is able to get that deal. Chase doesn't care how you pay for it, they just finance the biggest chunk. Make sure you call them first, just to make sure.

Re: 0% Financing and Reward Dollars
Ugh, I am having the most frustrating time with booking this trip. I have been trying to book all week but it appears that my last payment for my Disney Visa must have gotten lost in the mail or something because it has not been received and it has been 2 weeks since I sent it (another bill I sent that same day has been receievd and processed already) so I can't do anything with the 0% because it looks like I have money past due. I was reluctant to go ahead and make an online payment before I knew the fate of the money I sent but I am so anxious to book the trip that I paid online last night and now just have to wait for that to process. Ugh, ugh!

Re: 0% Financing and Reward Dollars
Most of these credit card deals aren't really deals at all, but just another way to get you to raise your balance. I don't know the specifics of this one, but the one's I've been seen lately are "0%" for VERY short time on balance transfers but they charge you a cash advance fee which is higher than you would have paid in interest for the 45-60 day period in the first place! Or the "0%" that if you are late on the due date (not the closing date) not only do you get hit for a "late charge" even though they actually got your payment but they then add the interest that they would have charged for the whole time to your balance. Or if you don't pay the balance entirely off within the alloted time...
I looked at the Disney (really Chase Bank) and threw it in the trash.

Re: 0% Financing and Reward Dollars
RLcarmichael, The usual interest rate is not great on the Disney Card but I only use it to buy things that I know I will pay off right away anyway - cell phone, groceries, etc. So I don't generally maintain a balance. The O% is for 6 months of no interest on a Disney Vacation Package so it essentially lets me charge my trip now and gives me 6 months extra months to pay it off. The card is definitely not a good deal if you carry a balance, you are right.
