Re: paying for trip w/rewards
We put everything on our card. At the end of the week I take the reciepts and send Disney Visa the amount that we put on the card. I have not even checked to see how many points we have right now but I think that I am going to continue to use the card and save the points to where I can go back one day. I know that after 750 we have to redeam the points but I dont have to use them....
That is my goal. |

Re: paying for trip w/rewards
I went ahead and signed up for my own card as the DW does like to use her card too much so it would take forever to rack up points. I just hope that they approve it and have it sent out before our trip so I can pay the balance of the hotel rooms with it.
If all goes well, I will use whatever points I rack up over the year to defray the resort cost for our 2nd wedding anniversary for Nov. '07 to take DW to WDL to celebrate!

Wow, good to know on the $750 limit. I am at $300 and I was not aware of a limit on how much you could earn. Thanks. Oh, and by the way... we used our rewards card to pay for our All Star rooms once in the past.

Re: paying for trip w/rewards
The Disney Visa Card is pretty good, originally issued by Bank One until Chase bought them out. I am a charter member.
You can use the reward points, once you have 10 of them transferred from your statement to a card for anything Disney - tickets, vacations, on-line purchases. All other transfers are also in 10 point increments. You can pay part of your total with the reward points and the remaining balance with any credit card, including the Disney Visa. I didn't know about receiving Disney Dollars. I'm going to ask about getting Disney Dollars instead of transferring reward points next time. Three drawbacks, 1) the reward points expire and if you have a rewards card that expires anytime soon, all additional points you transfer to that card will expire at the same time, regardless of when the newer additions are added or would otherwise expire. 2) only one reward point for every $100 charged, if you charge $389 in one month you only receive 3 points - this is the "least" rewards card out of the three I current have. The other two are much better in giving points and are nonexpiring. 3) I believe one should receive better benefits from having the card. All I seem to see are discounts on cruises - none on regular vacations, rooms, A/P etc. And to receive a discount at the DD disney store you not only have to use your card you have to TELL them you want your 10% discount, and hope the CM is familiar with the tranaction, some are not. My family and I love WDW and spend most or all of our Orlando vacation there. However, The Universal rewards card with accumulated and everyday benefits is sooooo much better.

Re: paying for trip w/rewards
It's only valid at the Downtown Disney store for purchases of $25.00 or more and you do have to ASK for it. You can visit their website at www.DisneyRewardsParkBenefits.com to find out more about the Disney visa card benefits.
