using reward points for dining plan
I've been charging away on my Disney Visa to earn reward points to help pay for my upcoming Disney trip. I transferred points to my reward card and gave them to my TA to apply towards my trip balance. She informed me that in order to secure a low airfare she didn't book my trip thru Disney, but thru GoGo Travels. Since it wasn't thru Disney she can't apply the reward points
.To get around this I was wondering if I could cancel the Dining Plan now and just get the MYW passes and then when I check in add the Dining Plan to my tickets and pay for it with my reward card. Is this possible? Am freaking out a bit since I have 673 points I want applied to my trip balance!!!!!!

Re: using reward points for dining plan
I think you can pay for the DP any way you like. We paid cash upon check-in last year. Since the Disney Rewards Points can be used for room reservations, merchandise, tickets, etc......I would imagine the DP would apply as well.
One other thing.....I don't think you can actually add the DP at check-in. I think you have until up to 3 days before your trip to add it but you can pay for it when you check-in.

Re: using reward points for dining plan
I don't know if you can pay with the points, but you def cannot add the plan at check-in. You must do that before you get there. Hey, just call down, they will tell you.

Re: using reward points for dining plan
You definitely can't add the Dining Plan at Check In. But you do usually pay for it once you arrive. You can call Disney directly and explain your situation and I am sure they can help you. I paid for my dining plan with my Rewards card and it felt GREAT that I didn't have to pull cash out of my pocket to pay for it!!!!!!!

Re: using reward points for dining plan
Yep, the dining plan has to be added in advance, kind of looks like you are stuck. Have you transfered your points to your rewards card yet? You could always use them your next trip, or use them during this trip to buy souvenirs, etc.

Re: using reward points for dining plan
well looks like my TA was able to apply my reward dollars. I guess she cancelled the last 2 nights thru the tour group and booked them seperately thru Disney and used the points. Now hopefully we won't have to switch rooms for those last 2 nights!

You will just have to check out then check back in, we had to do this for our last trip because we were staying for more the ten days...I think that was the reason I just did it real early and I asked about having the same room when we first checked it and they said it sould be fine and it was![]()
