Using Room Key in parks instead of Reward Card

i received my reloadable rewards card and i have a question...

say i am at WDW and buying souvenirs.

would it make sense so not to have to carry my rewards card with me to have the souvenir charged to our room key?

then when paying off the bill, use my reward card at the front desk, towards the total and let the rest be charged to my CC card??

(make sense

)

just thinking that way i wouldn't have to worry with keeping up with my rewards card while in the parks.

That sounds like a good idea. I don't know if it works that way but I sure would be interested to be able to do it too.

That's exactly what we did this summer. We charged everything back to the room like we normally would and I made sure to go down and pay off what I could with my reward card before it was rolled over to our credit card.

I believe the charges are submitted to your credit card at about midnight before you actually check out so don't wait until the morning you are leaving to go to guest services, it will be too late.

How much time do you have before it is charged over to your credit card?

It usually like a $ limit, or the night before checkout if you are doing the "speedy checkout", where they just leave the bill on your room doorknob and charge the balance due to your CC.

You have until late the night before you check out.

I thought charges were rolled over automatically if you reached your room charge limit but this summer we were cut off and had to go to guest services and roll the balance over and start over with the room charges.

Once you know you have reached about the amount of your reward card I would go have it swiped that way you know you're good and won't forget.

Yes, the reward card is what get get from our Disney Visa card.

i don't think so.....i think that you are able to charge to your room from everywhere in the park.

your "key to the world" is your room key.

That's what I've done since we got the Disney Reward card.

You could give the reward card when you check in to put on your room bill and then as you charge to your room it is subtracted from until it's gone. Do you follow what I'am trying to say?

I do follow you but it wouldn't go far for us before we were cut off. I'm embarrassed to say we've hit the $1500 charge limit more than once and had to go down and roll the charges over to our credit card so we could use our Key to the World again.
