Castle Inn
If you want a somewhat cool and Nice hotel to stay at while at DLR and its not a Disney Hotel I would suggest possibly staying at The Castle Inn, (www.castleinn.com). Ive stayed there before and Is a pretty nice hotel with good sized rooms for a reasonable price and it has an Awsome View of DLR from the Entrance side and if you have a room that faces the parks you can watch the firework shows from your room! Say you have young kids and you want to take them back to the hotel to get some sleep but they want to watch the fireworks, weeell if you have a DLR view room (which alot of the rooms have this view) you can watch them from your hotel room! :-) :-). Just thought Id say sumthing about it. There are also many other good and nicer hotels around the area, some more expensive, some cheaper in price.

Re: Castle Inn
Thanks for the tip!
I am staying at Howard Johnson's, I haven't been there before. I'm staying there because on Trip Advisor they rated it #2 in Anaheim just behind the Grand Californian. You should go on that site! They have interesting reviews. :)

Re: Castle Inn
We have stayed MANY times at the Candy Cane Inn (same side of Harbor as the park, just south of the entrance - used to be adjacent to the parking lot before CA Adventure was added). Nice prices, nice rooms, friendly and clean...plus parking is included in your hotel price (some hotels charge extra). Just minutes to walk their (even with little ones in tow) or take the hotel's free shuttle.

Re: Castle Inn
I've stayed at the Howard Johnson on 2 occasions. It is really nice.
Anaheimboy-how did you get to stay at the Castle Inn? I tried on New Years Eve 2002 and they wouldnt let me because I was from the area. Maybe because of New Years Eve?

Re: Castle Inn
They wouldnt let you? Huh...very odd.....well it could have been that they were getting full or were full and wernt excepting "in city" reservations. Maybe since you live in the area and they needed the room for out of towners and they wouldnt allow you to stay there. I had no problem staying there. So the only real reason I could think why they wouldnt allow you to stay was because of New Years Eve. You should try again. It very nice and is worth the money. :-) :-) :-)
