Hello All
We are getting close, and so excited.... I dont know who's more excited the kids or the adults? :) I just wanted to touch base with everyone and say TELL ME EVERYTHING YOU CAN THINK OF! We are around 12 people, three children 3 to 6 in age, the rest adults, we are getting so excited we cant stand it. My neice, 6 years of age is her first time in DLR what ever she wants she will get. We have been buying Disney Dollars for her, I'm willing to bet it amounts to 500.00$ or so. If you were her Uncle and God Father, would you not buy anything this girl wants, I do! Hehe! http://www.kellyfornia.com/Too%20cute.JPG I want to know anything you can think of, example. Get to this ride because! or eat here at this time. We are going to make a try for Blue Bayou one day. We have City Passes purchased already. Thanks for everything. I want to be more ready! Tim

I just wanted to welcome you to Disney Central. We have quite a few DL experts who I am sure will be able to answer your questions. Hang in there for the answers. Again, welcome!

Re: My DLR trip in June
Are you staying in Anaheim or Garden Grove? That's two different cities...
The Fantasmic Dessert Buffet is held at the Disney Gallery. You'll probably be able to make those reservations when you call to make your Blue Bayou reservations. Don't forget about California Adventure - Disney's newest theme park which definitely was not there 25 years ago. Will you have young kids with you? If so, you might want to consider some character dining - Goofy's Kitchen, Ariel's Grotto, the Princess Breakfast at the Plaza Inn, Storyteller's Cafe, Minnie's Breakfast at the Paradise Pier (did I forget any?). One of my favorite places to eat lunch is the Carnation Cafe on Main Street. They have great sandwiches and the Painter's Pallet is really fun for kids. Dinner - my favorite counter-service is Redd Rockett's Pizza Port in Tomorrowland (the most amazing pasta!) and my favorite sit-down is the Napa Rose in the Grand Californian. I'm not sure how the electric scooter rentals work - you might want to call on that. I see people using them so I know they are available each day, but they may sell out early in the day. Maybe you can find a local company to rent you one for the duration of your trip? |

Re: My DLR trip in June
Welcome to DC!! Your DLR trip sounds like it's going to be fantastic!! I HIGHLY recommend the dessert viewing of Fantasmic up at the Disney Gallery, but space is VERY limited. With your large crowd, I would check into that ASAP! Don't worry, the folks here at DC will help you out with all your questions. By the time you leave for your trip you'll know everything you'll need to know!!

Re: My DLR trip in June
Thank you for the welcomes and the information. I will be staying in Anaheim, I changed my original post, Thank You.
Disneywife: When you look at it like that $900 dessert is ridiculous, if that was dinner then maybe! Maybe it will be just a few adults going to that. We are going to have 5 kids going the oldest is 6 the youngest is 3. The Hotel has breakfast included with the price, not a continental but a real breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausage, omelets, coffee juice and milk. I guess we will have to eat breakfast in the park one day for the kids, if we only do it once what do you suggest would be the best place to go. We might decide to go more often, but for now I don’t really know. I want a game plan, but it will be very flexible and I’m sure it will be get broken a lot. I’m looking forward to this and I know everyone in the group is more excited than the kids I’m sure. Just for the record none of the kids have every been before, a first time for all of them. We are getting four day hopper tickets, so we will be going to DCA for sure. I know with this many people we are going to get separated, does anybody know of radios that work in the park? Thank You, all Tim

Re: My DLR trip in June
hey imfsimm and welcome to DC! A good place to eat inside DL park but not for a big price is Cafe Orleans (I think thats the right one) they serve gumbo and clam chowder in a bread bowl and drinks with a few other little things and DCA has good places to eat that dont charge too too much. If you go to www.disneyland.com you can find out more on dinning places. Have fun when you go!

Re: My DLR trip in June
Hi imfsimm! Don't worry about your long post...we LOVE to read posts and help out all we can!
It looks like most of your questions have been addressed...but I wanted to second Disneywife's suggestion to eat at Redd Rockett's in Tomorrowland. I miss the Chicken Fucilli SO BAD, my mouth waters just thinking about it!! Sooo good. For good food in DCA, try Taste Pilot's Grill. I hear the hot dogs at Award Wieners in DCA are also excellent. (They sure smell great!) ![]() Most two-way radios will work within one park (stretching them across 2 parks is usually pushing it for the cheaper models), but be sure if you use them that you denote a code word/words. TONS of people use the radios to keep in touch with their group, and you'll find that a lot of times other families will come through on the same frequency! Can get very confusing. So make sure everyone in your group knows which frequency to stay on, and what "code name" or "code word" to use when calling the rest of the group. That way you'll know you're communicating with the right "Mom" and not someone else's! ![]() If you can think of anymore questions, don't be afraid to ask! P.S. Welcome to DC!

Re: My DLR trip in June
The Blue Bayou is clearly a MUST at any Disney visit. Downtown Disney is chock full of restaurants to enjoy in the evening or during heavy crowds. I, for one, enjoy the JAZZ KITCHEN. The website www.Disneyland.com lets you go to ALL the restaurants and review the different types of food.

Re: My DLR trip in June
I think it's probably easier to just use your cell phone to keep in touch with your party in the parks, rather than have a radio with a shared channel and 14 thousand kids hollering "Mom?" into it...
At least that's what we use. When we flew across country to WDW, we still used our cell phones. |

Re: My DLR trip in June
We always use the radios, I love em' and they don't count against your minutes. If you are eating breakfast in the park, I think the plaza inn is good.
