We are going to DL in July and are just about willing to stay at the DL Hotel just for the awesome pool. Are there any nearby hotels with great pools that have anything like a slide or activities, fountain or anything?
Thanks for the help, Amber ![]() |

Re: Which nearby hotel has a great pool?
Though I have never been to WDW, in my research, I have found that the Disney Swan has a wonderful pool with a slide. The pool itself is close to 4 acres in area. It's a Westin property on the Disney campus, so it't not a "full fledged disney resort." However, if it's anything like the Westin Maui, you have nothing to worry about. I personally only stay at Starwood properties. Have been doing it for over 15 years and have never been let down

Re: Which nearby hotel has a great pool?
I can't think of a hotel near DL (aside from the 3 DLR properties) that has a slide--but someone here may know differently. I think most of the hotels in the area have pretty unspectacular pool areas. That's not to say the pool areas are not nice, but they aren't too themed or water park like.
If a fun pool is tops on your list, I think Grand California is your best bet (also the most expensive). DLH and PP have slides as well. I haven't seen PP's new slide in person, and I am not sure if it is part of the main pool, or if it is just the slide--like on a cruise ship, with a small pool of water at the end of it. Be sure to ask if it will make a difference to you. I do know that the Howard Johnson has a fountain in their kiddie area. My best friend has stayed there a few times with her family. It is nothing fancy, but she likes the price, the pools and the atmoshere. But her favorite off site property, and mine too, is the Candy Cane--but the pool is very small (a pleasant little pool, with a toddler pool and spa, but nothing to make you say "WOW!"). Good Luck! |
