YES ~ stayed there last summer ~ nice, clean, nothing fancy. Try and get the universal room ~ it has a big shower. Nice pool. couple long blocks from Disney. Definite would stay again. Before I had 3 grandkids. The lobby is nice ,fresh coffee.

I'm going END of August ~ staying at the Candy Cane lane for the first time.

Welcome both of you!! I haven't stayed at either of those, but I heard the Candy Cane Inn is nice.

Red Roof Inn Anaheim Maingate ~ nothing but great experiences!

DH and I stayed there for some time while living in CA last summer, and like Disney Joy said, it's nice...nothing fancy, no frills.

But the pool & spa are both great (we snuck back over to the Red Roof to use their pool once when we were staying at a more expensive hotel with a horrid pool! ) Ssshh! Don't tell!

The rooms are light and bright, with nice furnishings. The beds were comfy, and they had a pretty nice variety of pillows available too. The maid always left us one more towel than we needed!

For the price, it can't be beat. Thumbs up!

P.S. Have you signed up for the RediCard program? You can sign up thru Red Roof's website, and by using your member # when you makes reservations, you can earn free nights. It's worth it if you ever think you'll stay there again!

Is it close enough to walk to the parks? How much is the shuttle?

It's close enough for adults to walk comfortably (I'd estimate about an 8 minute walk), but with little ones it can be a bit far. The ART Shuttle has a stop right there, and I believe it's $3 a day? I haven't checked too recently, but I believe it runs $3 a day, or a 3-day pass for $7. Something like that.

Hope that helps!

Re: red roof inn anaheim maingate? info

We just got back today and I wanted to post about our experience. It was great! The Red Roof was clean and everyone was friendly. There was a security guard on duty most nights, so we felt like our car was safe and the lot was well-lit. We took our dog with us and had no problems at all. We opted to walk to the parks and it was a nice walk with DS in a stroller, but ART was available too. Even after all day in the parks, the walk back wasn't bad. I definantly recommend it!

I have actually stayed there since my last post. It was clean. The room we had seemed to be in a high traffic area, but other than that we had no complaints.

The Goof Father is noting the name of the Red Roof Inn within his little black book of Disney tips!

Thanks for sharing!
