Carousel Inn - Disneyland

Looking for anyone who might have stayed at the Carousel Inn recently. DW and I stayed there in 1999 and found it to be acceptable for what it offered. Hoping to find out if it is still a decent place to stay and if it is still across the street from the entrance since the changes.

Thanks!

Re: Carousel Inn - Disneyland

DH and I stayed here in 2004 and found it to be very decent for the price!

My family also just stayed there in April 2006 when they came to visit us in SoCal. The location certainly can't be beat, and I have to say that I was pretty impressed with their continental breakfast offerings. (Much better than at other hotels.)

My parents had some problems with the management over some small issues, like the fact that their room did not have a phone and it took a looong time to get someone to bring them one that worked! But once those little issues were resolved, they were happy with their stay.

The only thing I must say that bugs me is that the pool is ALWAYS closed at this hotel. It claims to be "seasonal", but even during the incredibly hot weather while my family was there, the pool was closed. But if you are okay without the pool, then you will be fine!

And yes it is still very near the entrance. You can't get much closer, it's a great locale!

I think the Carousel Inn is very quaint and good for the price. I usually stay at the Tropicana though, and you might want to try that instead. They just got a complete remodelling... two years ago I think? Actually, I think they finished sometime around last year. Carousel, Tropicana -- they're both really good hotels for such low prices. And across the street from Disneyland! Either way ya go, you've made a good choice.

Oh absolutely! It secured my feelings about booking our stay there. I've already reserved the room. It really helps having someone who has been there recently so I know it hasn't gone down hill.

This has nothing to do with the Carousel Inn, but I just noticed your countdown says it will be your first visit to DL since 1999! How exciting

Great! I hope it ends up being a wonderful hotel for you! (When we left, there was a Quizno's being built on the property; it should be done by the time you go. That will be another convenient food location!)

Thanks! I'm very excited to see the new park. The last visit, there was just the MK.

Okay, I just gotta say, that dog looks just like my little doggie Eddie! He's so cute! Is that a build a bear outfit he's wearing? I put those on Eddie all the time!
