Re: Disneyland - Candy Cane Inn VS Anaheim Fairfield
Both of these hotels are almost the same amount of walking distance to the main entrance, but if I had to pick one I think I would pick the Candy Cane Inn.
I like the smaller, more intimate feel of the CCI versus the Fairfield. Also, does the Fairfield have continental breakfast? Because I know the CCI does and they have a pretty good spread - better than other area hotels! ![]() (One plus for the Fairfield: they have Millie's restaurant, which is one of my favorite places to eat around DL. )Good luck deciding!

Re: Disneyland - Candy Cane Inn VS Anaheim Fairfield
I haven't stayed at the Anaheim Fairfield, but I have stayed at the CCI. We really liked it. The beds were comfortable. We had a refrigerator in the room. The continental breakfast was good too. It is close enough to walk, but they also have a shuttle. There is a store next door. This hotel is smaller than most, which I liked. You parked directly outside of your room.
The hotel is in the shape of a U with the pool and lobby at the center. The pool is small though. All in all, we really liked it and would definitely stay there again. What a wonderful way to spend your dd's first birthday!!

Re: Disneyland - Candy Cane Inn VS Anaheim Fairfield
We love the CCI. It is super clean and the beds are so cozy just as Disneyfever said. It's really a motel with outdoor coridors and parking outside one's room, but it's got lovely grounds and a pretty swimming pool, a hot tub and a kiddie pool. Conti breakfast is mostly bagels & creamcheese, pastries, muffins, cereals and fruit. Also, juice, coffee, tea and milk. It's nice to go grab a cup of joe and sit by the pool early in the morning.
It's an easy walk to the DLR entrance and there is also a hotel owned complimentary shuttle that we find very handy--no sharing with other properties ![]() I haven't stayed at the Fairfield Inn, but I look at it every time we start planning a DL trip, lol, but I don't book it.

There is a little mart next door to the CCI...a 7-Eleven just past that...and several eateries right across the street. We love the pizza place that's right across the street - their pizza is delicious!

Re: Disneyland - Candy Cane Inn VS Anaheim Fairfield
Does anyone know if I should request a certain side of the hotel at the CCI?
(Main floor or second floor, by the pool?) Any recommendations? Thanks for your help.....

The motel is "U" shaped, with parking outside the rooms, the pool breakfast room and office being in the middle. The open end of the "U" is along Harbor Blvd. The first several roooms (on either side, top and bottom floor I believe) of the "U" are the least expensive rooms. The second catagory of rooms (a bit larger) start about midway down the long arms of the "U" (on either side, top and bottom floors I believe ). The Premium Rooms (the largest rooms) are along the bottom end of the "U" (the curved part, lol), on the bottom floor only. The laundry rooms, vending machines and some of the stairwells are about midway down the arms of the "U", on the ground floor. I would not want to stay in a ground floor room near the midsection stairs and laundry (it's sort of dark there and gets somewhat busy as the morning goes on). My bestfriend likes the rooms on the second floor at the stairwells because there is sort of a small patio with chairs and at night she can tuck the kids in, prop open her door and sit out there with a cold drink and talk with her hubby. She doens't mind the noise from the stairwells as most people are considerate. I like a ground floor room because I can roll the strollers in, not worry that walking is too loud for anyone below me, and I don't have to lug our stuff up and down the stairs. We usually go to sleeep when the kids do when we are at DL, so the patio isn't a high priority for me. I'm indifferent as to which side I am on as well. You can see the fireworks somewhat from the second floor walkway if you are on the left side of the hotel (standing on Harbor Blvd, looking at the hotel). Not a major perk because anyone in the hotel can go up there to look, but I have met some people that really love to step out their door for them, so I thought I'd mention it. Also, the shuttle picks up at the top of the "U" on the left side, so that is another plus to being there (a little less walking). If you wanted that side, request something on the same side as the shuttle pick up/drop off and the hotel will know what you are talking about. If you have one of the least expensive rooms, ask for one that is further back in the hotel, not close to the blvd. Otherwise, stay away from the ground floor near the maids laundry. I know this is a wordy post, lol. I hope you know what I'm saying and it's not just jibberish ![]()
