Question for DLR around Thanksgiving
We may be going to SoCal around Thanksgiving 2005 and I was wondering how the crowds usually are at DLR for the Mon-Wed before Thanksgiving.
Disneywife or AnaheimBoy15, can you shed any light? ![]()

Re: Question for DLR around Thanksgiving
Shouldn't be too bad, though you might experience some more vacationing crowds than you would the week before or the week after. It'll be cool and I think is a great time to go! Plus, the Nightmare Before Christmas will be in full-swing at the Haunted Mansion and all of the holiday celebrations will be in full swing. (IASW Holiday, XMAS parade, XMAS fireworks, snow, decorations, etc)
Have fun!! |

Re: Question for DLR around Thanksgiving
Hey, thanks for the reply. Sounds like the crowds will be manageable.
I have another question related to disability issues. At WDW, I go to guest services at the theme park and get a GAC, I have heard that many people were abusing Disney's goodwill as far as accomodating disabilities at DLR, and that it is more difficult to get an assistance pass at DLR. Is this true?

Disney used to hand them out kind of like candy, but I think they have begun to be more reserved about handing out the GACs. Yes, some people have abused the privilege (and certainly still do). They may have also limited the number that they hand out each day, but I'm not sure. I kind of doubt they would do that. Obviously, if someone has a serious disability, they will accommodate them. I think they will only be reserved in the case of a group of able-bodied teenagers asking for one, etc. If you have a visible disability, you certainly will have no problem. I don't know what your situation is, but you probably will not have a problem getting one. Like I said, they are probably only going to say no if you're a young kid asking for one, with no sign of a disabled person in sight. ![]()

Re: Question for DLR around Thanksgiving
I wonder how the crowds at DL compare with those at DW during Thanksgiving. It seems like they would both be very crowded the day after Thanksgiving. But maybe the days before Thanksgiving aren't too bad.

Re: Question for DLR around Thanksgiving
We've done Dinseyland as a Thanksgiving week (with a large group of friends) for about 4 years now. Each year the crowds get a little larger, but still WAY more manageable than the summer crowds. Mon. and Tues. are great, Wed gets a little busier, Thursday is busy but still okay, STAY CLEAR ON FRIDAY! Saturday and Sunday are much like the Wednesday crowds. I agree with the earlier post, NO ONE does Christmas like Disney. The mansion redo, the small world redo, the decorations, the fireworks... WOW! Favorite time of year to visit! The weather can be quite unpredictable, so bring layers with a warm hat/gloves for at night. $10 ponchos or umbrellas can be purchased in the gift shops if it rains, and it is a bummer when the fireworks get cancelled due to "winds at elevations high above the magic kingdom." Still worth the visit! Maybe I've told too many people how wonderful this time of year is at Disneyland... maybe that's why the crowds get a little larger each year.... hmmm....
