Icon10 I got the Fantasmic "Premium" seating & dessert buffet!!!

Well after 6 months of planning, a "msn calendar reminder," and an alarm on my cell phone alerting me 15 minutes before 11am to CALL DL TO GET THE FASTASMIC BALCONY VIEWING WITH DESSERT BUFFET can you believe I was outside with the dogs and FORGOT!!

OK, ANYWAY, so when I got in and realized why the alarm on my cell phone was going off I panicked and RUSHED to call! BALCONY SEATING WAS ALL SOLD OUT!!! Although, I WAS able to get the "premier seating" area in front of the Haunted Mansion for the 10:30pm show that ALSO serves the desserts.

After reading about both, I think I might like this location better. One reason being that the balcony is assigned seating by order of ticket sales but the "premier section" is apparantly "first come first serve" at check-in. So I proably have a better chance of being in the front rows.

One thing I am a little upset at though is how after 6 months of planning and researching this how did I have NOOOOO idea that apparantly you can contact your DL resort and they can arrange to purchase these tickets FOR YOU before the lines even open. That's what I JUST read on MousePlanet anyway.
AND not only THAT but I ALSO JUST found out that if you get seating for the FIRST show, they allow you to stay to watch the fireworks too! UGH!! It's my fault really but I can't help but be kinda dissapointed! I hope it's still worth it!

Anyone have any experience with the "premier" section?

Sorry you missed out on your original seating plan, but am glad that you got the other. Sounds like a better view to me too.

Re: I got the Fantasmic "Premium" seating & dessert buffet!!!

We did the Fantasmic desert Buffet in December 2005. We sat in the priemer area. It offers a great view. We were directed to our seats by the cast members and did not get to chose the seats. The deserts are spread out on tables. After we were seated the Cast Member took our beverage order and then directed us to the buffet. They only had 5 different items. I think they must change the menu seasonally as many of the goodies mentioned in other posts weren't offered. Half way through the show I went back for seconds and the goodies were gone. So stock up early. We enjoyed it, but I wouldn't do it again. I would recommend it to anyone to try at least once though.

Yeah, i kinda figured it was a "try once" kinda thing. HEY, someone said there are unlimited MINT JULIPS involved here, is this true?!?! How early do you suggest we check-in at the area? We have a PS for "Carnation Cafe" at 7pm, so nothing should conflict.

Thanks rshenry!

I, personally, have never sat through Fantasmic, opting at the time to make use of optimal ride time..

But I have seen part of Fantasmic, and either Balcony OR premier seating will give you a "fantasmic" view..

Sorry that you missed out on the balcony. Their view has the munchies, which is nice. But your unobstructed view and chairs should be worth it.

I think you'll be really happy with the seating! I haven't done the premium seating before, but from the picture it looks like you'll be right in the middle of everything! Plus you don't have to stand for an hour to hold your spot!

I'm glad to hear you got a spot!

With all of your countdowns...looks like you need more points.

You can never have too many...except when it's time to pay the annual fee.

I know, I know! I can see it happening evantually and I think YOU WERE the one that warned me of this back in January! hehe. Although, it DID help that when I joined in January I got the FULL use year of points and am getting ANOTHER use year of points in August '06, so basically we've got them all booked up, haha! After this year we are definately slowin' it down though (imagine that )
