How should I...

Okay, since I did what to do OUTSIDE of Disneyland, now I'm going to ask you DL experts and recent or not so recent visitors how to map out our trek through DL, please keep in mind that there will be around 30 of us. I have recently found out about some rides that I never even seen or heard of before....HA! go figure, I've only been there twice, and the first time really didn't count since we only spent about 7 hours there, and most of the time we were in toon town.

Help me map out a route for us to take while in DL, Most of the people in my party will have a 2day park hopper pass, and they do want to do CA too. Me, my dd and ds and their father will be getting a 5 day park hopper pass, hopefully I can FINALLY see EVERYTHING DL and CA has to offer!

Wow...30 people...thats a lot!

The most important thing is to get to the parks early. Most people start a little later and you can get a lot done in the first hour or two! The best things to hit first thing are Peter Pan, Space Mt, the Matterhorn, Indiana Jones, Splash and probably PotC for a while.

Re: How should I...

yeah the biggest part is getting there early!! Also if watchilng the parades isn't a big part of what you want to do take advantage of the fact that is a big part of what a lot of people want to do!! Go on rides during the parades. Also USE FASTPASSES!!! they are your best friend!

Re: How should I...

OMGosh, where to start? Will you split up? Are you willing to split up? Have a plan before you get there so you aren't all standing around, feeling hurt because some want to go off. Pick a meeting point and time if you need to.

Twist is right, get there at opening. I like to hit FantasyLand first. Usually the carousel, then Dumbo. Peter Pan, Mr. Toad, Snow White's Scary (hint, hint) Adventure are all right there. Then maybe head to the Matterhorn, passing the teacups (that are SO pretty at night). IF the park is really quiet maybe a tour of Storybook Land and Alice in Wonderland (but if some people don't want to do the M, some can do these two rides as they are nearby, or you can all come back later). After the Matterhorn, zip to Space Mountain and grab Fast Passes, and tour Tomorrowland. Ride SM and plant your group for an early-ish lunch and watch the crowds come in.

A hint for lunch-as I recall many places open about 11:30 for lunch. If you get in line about 11:10-11:15 at a place like Buzz'z or Redd's in TomorrowLand, The Hungry Bear in Critter Country, or the Golden Horseshoe, there should be plenty of seating for your whole crowd. The lines get longer the closer you get to 12noon, so keep that in mind.

After lunch I'd high tail it to Splash Mountain for some FP's (esp. if it's crowded). I'd ride Haunted Mansion, Pooh, do the character meet and greet if that interests you while waiting for your time (again, if you need to wait).

After Splash, maybe hit the big rides you missed (like Big Thunder, Pirates, Jungle Cruise, Indiana - FPing one if you need to). Then make your way to It's a Small World, Toon Town and the Snow White show.

Leave for dinner and return to hit your favorites again and see the fireworks

If you do something like this together, and the crowd levels cooperate, then you'll have most of DL done, and you can go back for favorites later in the week. The next day you can spend a good bit of time in DCA, and return to DL easily enough when you're done.

Re: How should I...

I might be in the minority in saying this, but I always do DCA first. There is not as much to do there ride wise and the crowds aren't usually as bad. My suggestion is to go there first. Once I finish there I head to DL....saving the best for last!

NO HAUNTED MANSION????

That is a bummer, but it frees up your time for another ride on Splash or Pirates!

I would suggest you split up by age bracket.

However much fun it is to see your little one doing Dumbo, your older ones are not going to be as thrilled.

Trying to keep track of 30 people in a crowded park is going to be a bit intense!!

I've been hitting Disneyland so often that I can navigate without a map. In fact, I don't even grab one anymore.

But I usually just ask my heir apparent where HE wants to go, and the decision is made.. Having two in your party is so much simpler.

yes, having two would be SOOOO much easier, but what's the fun without losing some 5 year olds? Well I wish I've been to DL as much as you to not need a map, I am furiously asking anyone from here that I know to bring me back one or two or three, everyone says ya okay, and then forgets, but can I blame them? ya of course! but I don't hold it against them...There's in DL! ...and that's why I am looking for maps, the ones you can download are too small and hard to read, and did I mention take LOTS of ink to print! So we can make a 'game plan' for all age brackets! I'll keep ya all posted on our plans! Lord knows I'm going to need EVERYONES help!

Just so that you know, I found a map for Disneyland and one for California Adventure.

I pulled my Club 33 folder, but the only map THEY had was the smaller Disneyland and hotel, 'cause this was during California Adventure construction! A bit dated. But I also found the Anaheim Orange County Visitor Activity Guide. It also was from 96-97, but it has a HUGE amount of activities and destination spots that might be of interest. Including the Temecula Wine Country.
