Suggestions for Infant at Disneyland

Just wondering if there are any suggestions or advice on taking an infant on the plane and to Disneyland. My DD will be celebrating her 1st Birthday at Disneyland

Make sure you stop by City Hall and let them know your DD is having a birthday.

Wonderful things will happen!

Re: Suggestions for Infant at Disneyland

The first flights with DS I tried to have him nap during the flight. We also bought a DVD player, which I will NOT travel without. Baby Einstein's are great for that age. I'm not sure what you can bring on board now, but we had a ziploc bag with animal crackers. He played with the zipper on the bag (it was one of those sliding ones) more than anything, but it kept him occupied.
DS has never had problems with his ears on flights, so can't help there, but I've heard bottles help.
Good luck! Have a great trip and like 6-2-6 said, stop by City Hall for a Birthday sticker/button!

Make good use of the Baby stations. You can go in get a break feed her and just calm for a while. Go early in the morning and take a mid-day break. We took my cousin when he was that age and it was a nightmare when he didn't have a nap. Go early sooo you can get on any and all fantsyland rides. Have fun!!!

Re: Suggestions for Infant at Disneyland

You can take your little munchkin on more rides than you may expect! I took my youngest when she was 11 months old and she really enjoyed POTC, IASW and some others. I have GREAT memories of holding little Jilly Baby on my lap and just looking into her cute little face as she absorbed all of the sights and sounds.

You can also do the baby swap and enjoy many of the other rides, while you take turns watching over DD.

And most of all, keep your little one on her schedule or she may make you pay dearly for lack of sleep or other needs!

For the flight, have a bottle, pacifier or sippy cup she can suck on for take off and landing as the pressure can really bother some little ones ears. If she crys, try not to let it stress you out, even if people galre at you as if you were ruining their entire trip--don't sweat it--she will be more apt to calming down if you are not stressed Take some favorite toys or books (quiet ones) that make her happy--and a new something small as well. Try not to overpack your carry on items, the fewer things the easier it will be to manage security and boarding. Some people try to fly at naptime, but most of the time I read that the baby fell asleep in the car on the way to the airport, lol.

At Disneyland, she will be entranced! There are new sights and sounds, just go with her schedule and don't try to do too much. You can take her on Jungle Cruise, Pirates, the Haunted Mansion (my kids were oblivious to the 'scary' aspect of it that young, and would fall asleep in the gentle moving car and cool air), Pooh, most of the Fantasyland rides, the Rail Road, and more I'm sure I am forgetting right now. The Tiki Room scared my DD at 2.5, but both of my sons liked it at 1 and 1.5.

Re: Suggestions for Infant at Disneyland

we took our daughter on a plane to disneyworld when she was 12 months old also. We brought a portable DVD player with all her favorite movies, LOTS of snacks, and were told by our pediatrician to give her a bottle or sippy cup to suck on for takeoff. We gave her the bottle at take off and she fell asleep about 10 minutes later, and slept for an hour, so the last hour of the flight, we just had her watch movies, kept her busy, and gave her snacks. The flight went great! Just keep in mind, if you remain calm, so will they!
