Beaches

Hello,
We were planning to be in Anaheim in July and thought of going to the beach around the Anaheim area.
Has anyone been to the beaches in California? Which one would you recommend - Huntington? Newport? Laguna? What is the best way of getting there? (since we will not be driving) - bus - OCTA?

Thanks for your input.

Well since you aren't driving the easiest one to get to is probably Huntington Beach. Be prepared for a long ride though. It's not really THAT far...but the bus takes forever! Is renting a car for that one day an option?

Re: Beaches

Peppertink,
Does Huntington Beach have different shops or what can you do there? What bus would you take and the cost?
Thanks

Re: Beaches

Yes, there are shops on Main Street..and the pier with Ruby's(a fun 50's type restaurant) at the end of it. There are also some pretty good rest. on Main St. and also at the Hyatt as well. I don't know the bus number or cost as I don't use the bus system. I think it may require a transfer of buses to get to HB from the DLR area.

I think most of your questions can be answered at OCTA.net

Re: Beaches

Huntington Beach is pretty nice. I was lucky enough to be passing through and got to witness a sea battle between two sailing ships. I think the British ship defeated the pirates... Very cool!

Did you "hear" this from the voices in your head? Try to listen to the voice that uses the word "duh" the least. That one is the smart one. Believe me, I know.

And Huntington Beach has lots of sand.

Get back on topic Pepsi!

Yes, so right GF, back to topic. Huntington Beach does have a lot of sand. And many fine dining establishments as well as a surfing museum.

The best beaches are actually in San Diego I think!!!

However, that's a healthy Drive. Depending on cost, I would go with Newport or Huntington. And I would rent a car for that day, Anaheim is well inland, and the bus service would take you forever..
