Concierge at DLH

Has anyone used the concierge service at the DLH? Was it worth the extra money? What did they offer for breakfast? Thanks for any info on this!

Re: Conceirge at DLH

Disneywife, I will! I am very excited about our next vacation to DL. I haven't been there for about 5 years. CA was being built the last time I was there. Counting down the days!

From what I have heard its a very good service, I guess you could always call the resort and ask about it.

Re: Conceirge at DLH

DH & I have stayed @ DLH/Concierge twice. Most recently June 1-7, 2005. The service is wonderful, but the food offerings are a little slim. On my annual Sister trip (two sisters over 50), my sis & I have stayed @ the AKL/Concierge (03/04) & The Poly/Concierge (01/05). You cannot compare the food & beverage offerings from The DLH and the WDW resorts. WDW has so much more in terms of food & drink.
Brekfast @ DLH - Muffins, toast, cereals, fruit, coffee, tea, juices, milk/choc, water
Snacks @ DLH - Tortilla chips & salsa, fruit, uncrustables, Mickey rice krispy treats and the refrigerator is full of water & non-alcoholic beverages (help yourself)
Evening @ DLH - Cheese, crackers, cold cuts (no hot appetizers like WDW). You have to ask for the wine & beer. At WDW you have serve yourself Wine, Beer, Cordials.
I do enjoy the service and the convenience of coffee & juice in the a.m, plus, you can see most of the fireworks "Remember...Dreams Come True" from the Concierge lounge, on the top floor of the DLH. There is also a private glass elevator from the DTD side directly to the Conc. Lounge. Do try to see the Fireworks from the park..Unbelievable. We have been to DL 50+ times and "Wishes" is spectacular. Being native Californian's, we love DL, sentimental and WDW is wonderful and does things a little more upscale.
I am leaving this Sunday (8/28/05) to meet my Sis, Brother-in-law, niece & two nephews for 5 nights & 6 days @ the DLH and I am upgrading to the concierge for our stay. With the three kids it is well worth it, especially in the a.m. Someone can go to the lounge and get the breakfast & bring it back to the room, while everyone gets ready to go to the park. Saves alot of time. All in All, if you can afford it ($125.00 charge per night, per room) I definitely suggest it. Hope this helps everyone.

Re: Conceirge at DLH

WOW.
Thanks Diane.

We cant wait to get there. I do have 1 question, do they have plastic bottles of water to take in the park with you or are they glass?

Heard at the Poly Conc, that they were glass.

Thanks for the info!!!

Re: Conceirge at DLH

You're welcome. in June (05), the bottles were plastic. The refrigerator in your room has a little freezer in it and you can actually freeze the water bottles so that they stay cold much longer while you are in the park. I have a thermal bottle wrap that clips to my fanny pack, it was nice to have cold water most of the day.

Re: Conceirge at DLH

quartz7, I just noticed that you are going to the POLY/Concierge in 2006. I see that you have stayed at the Poly before, isn't it wonderful?? And now you will get to enjoy the Concierge Service...The FOOD & DRINKS are incredible @ the POLY/Concierge. Chef Dick (Chef for the Concierge Lounge) is wonderful. Wait till you see his "fruit carving displays". Hve fun.

Re: Conceirge at DLH

Yep it sure is. We just love it. We had our honeymoon there, now our kids get to play on the beach. How wonderful is that. We spent 2 wonderful weeks there last year. Can't wait for 2006. Another 2 weeks. YIPPEEE!!!

Those fruit carvings sound great. I am happy to hear the food is great. Maybe this will save us a little bit on our budget, Nah, we are in Disney, I can never watch the budget. LOL

When are you heading back?

Sorry to hijack this thread!

Re: Conceirge at DLH

Little Sis and I (both in our YOUNG FIFTIES) are planning our Annual Sister Trip at the GF/Concierge in January or February or whenever the AP rates are the best.

Sis, Brother-in-law, niece & two nephews are meeting at the DLH on Sunday (8/28/05) for five days, I was just there in June and I can't believe I am so lucky and can go again in less than 3 months.. Needless to say DH is very envious, but anything I want to do involving Disney, is OK with him. Sis & the family are coming from Wyoming and I am flying in to SNA from NH. My DD lives in San Diego, so they will come up to Anaheim for a mini family reunion. Can't wait to complete my list on my search of GOLDEN MICKEY'S. I found 26 of the 50 in June.
