Which Disneyland Resort?
Which Disneyland Resort have you stayed at and had the best experiences all around? Please-only post if you have STAYED at one of these resorts. I have toured them all and could make my own decision based upon that, but would like to hear from people with positive experiences when staying at them. Thanks!

Re: Which Disneyland Resort?
We've stayed at the Grand Californian. We were very happy with our stay. The room was an average-sized hotel room but with very upscale amenities - high-speed internet connection, a mini bar, coffee maker, robes, etc. The view from our room (we had a theme park view) was just unbelievable especially at night.
The hotel has it's own entrances to both Downtown Disney and California Adventure. We were there to celebrate both my dh's and my ds' birthdays, and when we checked in they were both given birthday pins, "autographed" pictures of Woody, and when we made last minute reservations at Ariel's Grotto for literally 15 minutes after we decided to go there, the hotel still took the time to notify them that they had two birthdays coming and Ariel's Grotto gave them more pins, a song, and a complimentary dessert. We had the same acknowledgment the next morning at Goofy's Kitchen. When we got back to our room, they had left four glasses of milk on ice, and four HUGE chocolate fudge cookies. We've also eaten at the Napa Rose which as absolutely unbelievable food. Of course you don't have to stay there to eat there but it's worth mentioning. |

Re: Which Disneyland Resort?
I have stayed at the Grand Californian 3 times and the DL hotel once recently and once a long, long time ago. I was not disappointed with either one. I would choose to stay at the GC again due to the location...much closer than the others to DTD and the parks. If you can get a theme park view it is fantastic!!!

Re: Which Disneyland Resort?
We have stayed at the DL hotel twice and LOVED
it both times!! Room 2000 in the main bldg is bigger than most of the other rooms!! There is lots to do there and it is the ultimate in DISNEY MAGIC! ![]()

Re: Which Disneyland Resort?
Thanks all! Like I said, I have toured them all, as I used to visit Disneyland and Downtown Disney on a daily basis when I worked there. I am leaning towards the Grand Californian, due to the amount of time we have spent there, and NOT stayed in a room! We would most definitely get a park view room. How about the pools? Any of them better than another? I know Paradise Pier just finished their big new slide.

When we were there it was November so we didn't swim, plus we have a pool here at home so we probably wouldn't have even if it were warm enough. But the GC pool looks really fun, and the DL hotel pool has supposedly just been redone - on top of where the old ice skating rink used to be - in a Captain Hook's theme complete with a big 'ol ship in the middle of the pool. It's supposed to be really fun. |

Re: Which Disneyland Resort?
I love the disney hotel. It such a great Disney fee. It has bigger rooms and the pool is much more kids feel. If you have kids I would choose the Disneylad Hotel. You also will take the monorail into the park more. Which I love. Disneyland hotel has more places to eat and is closer to the Rainforest, ESPN, And BLUES and new MEXICAN resaurant. It has three builds surronding the pool.

The skating rink was years ago...dh and I used to go walk around the "old" DL Hotel (pre-renovation, pre-new tower) when we first started dating...way back in the day (the 80's) |

Re: Which Disneyland Resort?
I have stayed at all three. If I had the choice, I would stay in the GC everytime. Great rooms, wonderful lobby and location. Nothing like swimming in the pool there, and being able to see into the CA park from the slide tower. DLH is very nice, and the pool is great. A bit of a further walk to the parks, but no big deal. DTD is cool early in the morning when no one is there. Really, either of these two would be great choices.
PP, we stayed there a couple of years ago, pre-rehab, and it was a dump. The entrance to CA wasn't bad, kind of felt like you were sneaking in, but the walk to DL is long. I didn't really like anything about that hotel. I checked it out a couple of months ago when we were there, and it looked better, but I just don't think I would ever stay there. I mean, it is about the same price as the DL Hotel, so why should I?
