Park Vue

Have any of you ever stayed at the Park Vue Inn? Thats the hotel my dad decided to stay in, mainy because its literally right across the street from the entry plaza. He was going to stay at one of the Disneyland Hotels but their all booked up for the 4th, 5th, and 6th ot May. I just wanted to know what you all think of the hotel. It looks nice, I have never seen the inside of it but it looks nice.

We just spent 8 days their and thought it was a great place. Rooms were clean, it was so close to the park, the continental breakfast was OK (what do you want for free?) The usual danish, fruit, toast, coffee, juice. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. I know previous reviews are not always friendly to this place but either they cleaned up their act or we just were lucky. The restuarants we ate in nearby by we not that great. The McDonalds was good for a quick bite, and in the hotel lobby they have a coupon for 10% off of McD's. They even gave us two free coffee mugs to take home. I think for how much time you spend in the hotel it is definetely a great place to stay. One more thing we just had to open our door and could watch the fireworks from our room. Not as great as being in the park, but great if you are tired.

Re: Park Vue

thanks for the great info ann0d! I'll be sure to pass it on to my dad. And about the hotel looking better than what has been said about it...The hotel just recently went through a very expensive re-furb, and it looks great from the outside.

Re: Park Vue

AHB do you have any idea what kind of rate your dad is paying for the 5th? I can't imagine what rates are like, even at off-site hotels! *faints*

Re: Park Vue

He's paying like 90 something a night, so nothing TOO TOO bad. He was going to originally stay at the Marriot but they were booked. Plus I told him he had to stay at some place on harbor and close to the entrance, so he's staying at the Park Vue.

Re: Park Vue

Okay...well, it could be worse I suppose. It's a pretty awful rate to pay at a place that's normally so cheap, but...it'll be worth it. Thanks, I was just really curious!

Re: Park Vue

Yeah, its pretty reasonable, well especially for my dad anyway. My dad is one of those people who has to stay in a high class hotel when he goes traveling (no Motel 8 for him ) he will pay up too 400 or more a night if he likes the hotel. I remember a few years back when we stayed in New York City for the week while visiting my grandma and we stay at The Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, boy...I bet that took a big chunk out of his pocket!

Re: Park Vue

We are staying in the park vue when we go this week. It's SO close to the cross walk. You basicly walk out of your room and into the parks.

I hate to be the voice of dissention here, but we hated it. We found the motel and room to be shabby....even the pool was disappointing. The only real asset was the location.

We moved out after only one night and went to the Portofino Inn & Suites
I only wish we'd gone there initially. For virtually the same price, we stayed in a beautiful hotel with large suites and all kinds of amenities. It was just a little further down the street too.

Hey its a-ok to have an opinion, ya know what I mean. But I have one question, how long ago did you stay there? Because the hotel recently got a very expensive re-frub and is looking quite nice.

Re: Park Vue

We stayed there 3 yrs ago, so you're right; it could be very different now from when we were there. I hope so, because the location couldn't be better.

Re: Park Vue

Just checked availability with The Candy Cane Inn and they have Deluxe Rms. available 5/4 to 5/7 for $97 per night. The location is the best for me, no Blvd. crossing. Entrance to DL on the same side 1 block away. We usually split our stay between DHL & CCI. Next visit 6/1 to 6/3 DHL & 6/3 to 6/7 CCI. We are like your Dad. We love the better hotels e.g @ WDW we usually stay @ the Poly or AKL/Concierge, and we are still impressed and love the CCI. Give it a try. I have stayed at both The CCI and The PVI and I would choose the CCI anytime. Say hi! to your Dad.

Re: Park Vue

Really? You say your dad likes higher-end hotels, but chose the Park Vue?

I think I would take a Deluxe Room at the CCI any day...especially with the rates so close. I think it's such a step-up, because the Park Vue is really...well, more along the lines of a Super 8. *shrugs* Just MHO.

Yea I know what you mean. But I'll be staying with him and he wanted a very close hotel, he suggested he wanted one practically right across from the entry plaza and have knowing this I felt the Park Vue Inn was one of the best choices, but thats just my opinion.
