I have also used a fastpass at DLR after the time has expired. Usually only about 1 hour after, but I have never had any trouble.

Luckily for all of us, they DON'T smart n' up!!!!

Yep, this is true. You can use fastpasses ANY time after they expire (within the same day). This is coming from a CM trainer's mouth. Oh, and from our experience too. We had three Splash fastpasses throughout the day, and used them all late at night, and ended up going on it 3 times in a row without any waiting-in SUMMER! It was awesome!

That's how weways do it. We rack them up throughout the day and then take a break with the kids and then return and walk on everything!

That's the best way in my opinion. Admittedly, I feel a little bit bad for the folks that we walk by three times in a row, while they have been waiting in line for two hours. But I usually get over that after riding Splash several times in a row!

Re: AAA Unlimited Fast Passes

Oh yes, I'm always hoping that others won't "wise up" about being able to use FPs after they are so-called "expired"! But in training, Disney told us it was more than acceptable, and that if someone wanted to save up FPs all day and use them in the same hour at the end of the day, no prob!!

It doesn't seem like too many people have realized it yet (besides us), thank goodness.

Re: AAA Unlimited Fast Passes

That's really good to know. We always made it a point to never exceed our fast pass time. Now we can really take our time with everything.

Re: AAA Unlimited Fast Passes

Pardon me for any faux paux I make, here. (My first forum posting ever, and I can't find the instructions...

My reason for being here is... everyone says to stay at DL hotels, but with off site being 1/3rd the cost we could stay there longer and us a Park Hopper pass. Do the off site hotels have shuttles that drop you at the DL entrance and pick you up at the end? We'll have a 6yr old with us who will no doubt be in no shape to walk back at the end of the day. Thanks

Re: AAA Unlimited Fast Passes

Sharondipity, welcome to DC! I have no experience with Disneyland. So I can't help you specifically.

However, as a WDW "regular," my DW (dear wife) and I started our Disney vacations going for the cheaper off-site hotels. They were clean, affordable, and efficient.

Then we got a discount code for the Pop Century resort and decided to stay on-site. It was clean, affordable, and MAGICAL. I can't explain it, but staying at a WDW resort is so much more than a hotel room.

To make this last trip affordable and stay on-site, we used the camp grounds. I could have gotten a hotel for the same price as the camp grounds through Priceline.com, but, again, staying on-site is so much more fun.

Re: AAA Unlimited Fast Passes

Sharon, we have stayed on and off site at both DL and DW. At WDW it is much better to stay on-site. At DL staying on-site is nice, but not nearly as big of a deal. If you are thinking about DL, the Candy Cane Inn is a great off-site hotel. It has a shuttle and is within walking distance. They have a free breakfast in the mornings. We really liked the rooms. The beds were very comfortable and the room was tastefully decorated. There are also several hotels directly across the street from DL.
If you are thinking about WDW, then staying on-site is much easier because you can get to the parks quicker and you never have to leave WDW. But there are still a lot of nice places off-site too. I would much rather stay at a value at WDW than at an off-site hotel though. The values are very reasonably priced and if you have AAA you can get a discount on the room.

Re: AAA Unlimited Fast Passes

Thanks much. Judy, when you stayed at the CC Inn, what was the Shuttle service like. Does it pick up at the Inn, or do you have to walk to get to it. Also, on the flip side, when you are ready to leave DLR is it convenient? Do the shuttles drive to a billion other hotels on the way to yours? I appreciate any help...

Re: AAA Unlimited Fast Passes

Sharon, the Candy Cane in is not a large hotel. It just has two floors. It is shaped like a U. The office, pool, dining area, and small store are in the center at the top of the "U." The shuttle is just for the Candy Cane Inn and it picks up right at the front of the driveway, inside the "U." It was very convenient to come and go from DL and CA. Sometimes we took the shuttle and sometimes we walked. If I visit DL again and decide to stay off-site again, I will definitely stay there. We were very pleased with everything. The only thing we saw that could use any improvement at all was the temperature of the pool. We went in Nov. and the pool didn't feel very warm. Of course, DS swam anyway!
Also, we got a special internet discount from their website. We made our reservations a long time in advance. You don't lose anything by doing that, because you don't have to put down a deposit. You might want to take a look at the website.

Also, our room had a refrigerator and a microwave. Some rooms only have a refrigerator. Since the hotel is not large, everything is very easy to get to.

Disney fastpasses are free to all guests, in both parks.
