Icon9 18 Month Celebration!!!

Here I've been planning a trip for next December to Disneyland thinking I would be there for the 50th celebration. Last night I read that it is an 18 month celebration. That means it will end October next year.

An event this big I thought would last a little longer. I guess I was wrong. Now I must re-evaluate my options. Anyone think it may be extended?

Re: 18 Month Celebration!!!

I doubt it, but it seems like there is always something bigger to take it's place. Everytime we have gone it seems like there is some kind of celebration going on. Is there any chance you could go in September?

Why, is September a better time of year? I really wanted to see the NBC makeover, but... to see the classics like they should be is a plus as well. Some of the past WDW celebrations have been carried over to the following May, so I was hoping with all the castle work put into these celebrations that it may happen, but who knows. EPCOT 25th is coming up and that is a big milestone to celebrate in Florida too.

Well September is not busy at all. We have been and it was great. Like you said, who knows. It may carry over.

Re: 18 Month Celebration!!!

Always some celebration going on. Especially with parks all over the place.

Don't thing I've ever been there they weren't celebrating something. Any excuse for a party. The one I thought was neat was the 25th WDW with the PINK castle that looked like giant cake and candles.

I hope you can see it, Spidey. What are your chances of going a little earlier?

I have no idea right now, but things can only get easier after my son starts school next year (money wise).

Re: 18 Month Celebration!!!

December would still be a lovely time to go, celebration or not. And, chances are, there will be something going on.

Re: 18 Month Celebration!!!

Hey, Spider. I've heard that they're going to have a HUGE Star Wars celebration in 2007, for SW's 30th. We're planning on going.

Anyway, I say that because you're planning on going to DL in Dec '06. Why not delay it a couple months, and go during the SW celebration? I know you love SW as much as I do....

Yes, that does sound interesting. I could go with Tax refund money.

I hate to miss the 50th though. But if I must, I must. Besides, I hear the Finding Nemo ride won't open until 2007 and I am really excited about seeing that.

Nope they aren't going to extend it because they have to prepare the park for Donald Ducks 75 birthday celebration the following year...I hear that is the one you don't want to miss!
