Disneyland Resorts...Non smoking...

Wow!!! Thought this was interesting....

Disneyland Resort snuffs out smoking rooms
Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, Calif., announced it will become an entirely smoke-free facility beginning March 1, following a similar announcement by Westin last month. All 2,224 rooms at the three Disneyland hotels will become smoke-free due to "steadily declining requests," said Disney Vice President Rob Doughty.

Hmmm, That stinks for people who smoke indoors. I actually don't know anyone who does. Everyone I know that smokes does it outside even at home.

Re: Disneyland Resorts...Non smoking...

As opposed to the smoke from the brush fire in Anaheim Hills and other surrounding communities the other day?

Actually, I am glad this is happening. Smoke stains everything, and being placed in a Smoking room 'cause there ain't no more non-smoking can make a trip miserable..

Re: Disneyland Resorts...Non smoking...

It doesn't suprise me in California at all. Where even in clubs you usually have to go to an outdoor terrace to smoke. I don't smoke and never have but I am actually suprised this took so long to do at the resorts.

I'd hate to be one of the first to get into a newly "non-smoking" room!

I'm really happy to hear that! Like 6-2-6 said, there is nothing worse than getting stuck in a smoking room because thats all a hotel has left!

Re: Disneyland Resorts...Non smoking...

I've never gotten stuck in a smoking room at any Disney resort. Are they really bad?
The weird part is when I called to make my November reservation for Saratoga she said she would "note" my request for a non-smoking room but they could "only honor it" if it's for medical reasons.

UMMMMM, woulnd't that ALWAYS be for a medical reason?!?

I agree Andrea. I sure hope some repainting and deep cleaning goes along with turning the former smoking rooms over to non smoking.

Re: Disneyland Resorts...Non smoking...

Haven't been there, but I'm glad they're doing this.

I'm one of those severely sensitive allergy people. I pick up on anything, and immediately get sick from it. Smoke and the smell of smoke will put me down all day. And it sticks in everything!

Glad they're doing something to protect their property. I can't imagine how much it would cost to "de-smoke" the rooms.

I'm sorta the same way...I never quite feel right whenever I visit Las Vegas...I know it's because of all the smoke in the casinos....

Wish, I never thought to ask for a non-smoking room. I just assumed ....
In Delaware there is no-smoking in all public places, bars, and restaurants.
I'll have to call down.......

Ok - I did. And I reserved the rooms because of smoke allergies (medical reason). Thanks Wish!

Re: Disneyland Resorts...Non smoking...

Wish thats so wierd! It shouldn't just be for allergy reasons but HEALTH reasons! I would hate to be suck in a smoking room...I wouldn't stand for it actually, I'd switch hotels.
So glad they're getting rid of them all together - and hopefully replacing all the bed/carpets/chairs/curtains/etc...
