We go every January for our Music convention and we either stay at the PP or the Grand Californian. Last time we stayed at the GC and our room overlooked downtown Disney and we loved it. We bought an annual pass and had a terriffic AP price ($149 a night!) We also get incredible rates because of the convention (PP for $115 this coming trip)
Since we do not bring our children - business trip - we never stay at the DL hotel - It would make me miss my children even more! There some very charming heighbor hotels - but some are risky and your crossing roads and starring at Denny's and McDonalds! The Annabella is very nice though. Have fun!
