Grand Californian

I'm staying at the GC for only $209 a night for the first four nights. The last two are regular rate. Yippee!! We are going in Oct and meeting my brother and his family there again. The last time we went we all had a wonderful time and stayed at the Candy Cane Inn, which we really enjoyed. This time will be even more fun staying right in the middle of everything.

Congratulations! You will truly enjoy it!

The Napa Rose is a wonderful restaurant to eat at as well!

Best thing, of course, about that hotel is getting cold and wet on Grizzly Rapids and able to hop into the hot pool or run into your room and get dry!

The comfy fireplace in the lobby is a treat as well.

I always walk through it when I have the chance. My Heir apparent always asks why we can't stay there..

Memorial Day Weekend was almost $500.00 for two nights!

Re: Grand Californian

We love the river ride. That will be great to just run up to the room and change! One of my sisters stayed there last year when we were at the Candy Cane Inn. Her room had a DTD view. I thought it was a great view. You are just right in the middle of everything.

I haven't eaten at the Napa yet. We might try it this trip. I have heard wonderful things about it. We are also looking forward to a lunch again at the Blue Bayou.

I like so many things about Disneyland. You can walk everywhere. No shuttles. That will be great. I really like their Space Mountain since it has been redone.

We're looking forward to a great trip.

Re: Grand Californian

The GC is SUH-WEET! Now when we stay somewhere else we sort of have that cloud of "this place isn't as nice as the GC" hanging over our head bit! It is well worth it though! Very nice place, through and through! ENJOY!

Re: Grand Californian

I know what you guys mean. When one of my sister's stayed there, we got to see the lobby and rooms. It is a beautiful hotel. I think I read somewhere that it is similar to the WL, which I have never visited. I just can't believe I got such a good rate. One of the best things about it is the location. It is right next to the parks and right in DTD. Can't beat that.

Thanks LMS!

I'll be sure and write a TR too. We will be meeting my brother, his wife and their three kids. We'll take our two boys (11 & 17), so we'll have a big group. I think my favorite thing about our last trip there was the Aladdin show. It was the funniest, most entertaining show we had ever seen.

It is beautiful! The location can't be beat. When my sister stayed there, I just loved looking out her balcony at DTD. I thought that was very cool.

What a fantastic rate! You are going to have so much fun Judy!

I see you were here in November last time, but just so you know October is the prettiest month in all of California--the light, the weather...it's just the perfect month as far as I'm concerned, lol. You picked a great time

Re: Grand Californian

Judy, which kind of room did you book at the Grand Californian? We just got a "standard view" but I am wondering how bad the standard "view" might really be? I think they offer standard, DTD view, and park view, right?

Re: Grand Californian

How exciting! I would LOVE to stay there someday.

(DH and I accidentally fell asleep in front of the fireplace in the lobby one night after shopping in DTD, and security asked us to leave...does that count? )
