Re: Disneyland express or Supershuttle?

The Disneyland Express is much cheaper as it's a bus that drops off awhole bunch of people whereas the Supershuttle is only for about 8 people. (Van)

Re: Disneyland express or Supershuttle?

I recommend the Supershuttle. If you got a package thru a travel agent they can add either to the package (they should have recommended one).
But if you are doing everything yourself then call and ask about each. As someone said the shuttle is only eight people and we had no problem with it.

Re: Disneyland express or Supershuttle?

Thanks for letting me know the difference. The Supershuttle sounds like it will be better for us since there are five of us, so there will be probably only one other stop.

Re: Disneyland express or Supershuttle?

I always go with a rental car, because I usually can get a rental rate that is very comparable to the cost of the shuttle or bus (family of 5) and the convenience is far better too. Every trip I need to use the rental car for trips to Target, restaurants and even visits to other sites or parks.

I went with the bus service way back in '97 (without kids) and it was nice to be able to kick back and have a "tour guide", but I was on someone else's schedule. The cost wasn't bad either... But I wished I had my own wheels...

And that is my ten cents!

We rented a car last year and it just sat in the parking lot for a week and DH hated driving in LA traffic, we had a heck of a time finding the car rental return. He really got frustrated with all the traffic. He said he'd rather just take the shuttle and not worry about having to drive this time around.

I do agree it takes a hardy soul to venture into LA traffic!

We always use our car... I made at least 3-4 trips just to Target on my last trip!

Re: Disneyland express or Supershuttle?

If you can fly into Orange County rather than LAX, the drive is much shorter and easier, and therefore might be worth the car rental. Rates are usually pretty comparable with LAX.
Since I used to live there, we always rent a car because we'll spend part of the time visiting family and friends , and visiting local favorite stores and restaurants that we can't find here in Texas (Del Taco , here we come!)
How long are you staying?

Re: Disneyland express or Supershuttle?

My friend just used the SuperShuttle when he came to DLR last week. He loved it and said it worked greatly for him. He got it through his airline booking at expedia.com so Im not sure how much it is. Im sure if you call the airport or DLR and they can assist you with costs of both lines of transportation. DLR - 714.781.7290

Re: Disneyland express or Supershuttle?

I think it depends on which hotel you stay. (I think it'd be ok, if you were staying at a Disney hotel or the Marriott's Fairfield Inn) We stayed at the Park Vue Inn adjacent to the main entrance of DLR. And we took the Disneyland Express from LAX, (thought the kids would enjoy it's theming and all) it makes a stop at the Disneyland Hotel where you make your payment. It then take you to your hotel. Ours dropped us off curbside (as was many others) at the public transportations bus stop (pick us was to be at that same stop), and we had to walk with luggage in hand, stroller, etc + 2 kiddos a ways to our hotel across a driveway, probably about 30-40 yards away. Picking us up and taking us back to LAX was another story, took forever for our bus to come and we waited at the HOT public bus stop with 1 crazy homeless foul mouthed old woman and a a few other crazies. It was awful!!

With the Supershuttle, (we've taken that on a previous trip) was so much smoother, drops you off fronting your hotel at the time you requested, you can wait in your AC hotel lobby to be picked up upon departure.

HTH :)

I think we've decided to go with the Disneyland Express since we are staying at the DHL and we'll be the first stop. They also have a $3 coupon on they're website so that saves us $15.
