Please sell me on Disneyland Resort, Please!
I need to be sold on Disneyland Resort. Sara is doing a crummy job and I'm having a hard time throwing down $210
a night for a room. Will I find a pearl between the mattress if I can pry it open? Does Mickey Mouse sleep in the bed next to me? Will Prince Charming come and for a fitting with the glass slipper? Instead of a mousekeeper do the 7 dwarfs come and clean the room? I have question! I need answers! ![]()

I like DLR just fine.....hard to beat all the history there.....I'm going back in 43 days.

Re: Please sell me on Disneyland Resort, Please!
To me Disneyland is "real, authentic, original Disney." When you see the oil lamp on in the apartment over the Fire House you know Walt once stood there looking down on happy guests.
There is nothing in the world like it. I used to consider myself a Disney fan until I visited Disneyland, then I became a Disney fanatic. You must go! Seriously. My vote is to always stay at a DL Resort Hotel BUT if you don't want to pay the price stay somewhere else close. It's not like WDW where staying off site is a pain in the bum. It's really easy. I didn't stay on-site until my 3rd trip. Seriously though, there is SO much that is unique and exciting to the DL Resort. It's perfect.

Re: Please sell me on Disneyland Resort, Please!
Trust me, it's worth it..
Remember, no waiting for a bus, no endless stops.. And, if the $210 a night is too much, there are cheaper accomodations. Just look at all the hotels I've stayed at.. All for $50.00 and under a night. ![]()

Re: Please sell me on Disneyland Resort, Please!
I've decided to compromise and stay at Disneyland Hotel for at least 2 nights at the end of our trip. Stay at an offsite for the first 3 nights and then switch over to Disneyland and go out with a bang.
Because of school we're also going at the most expensive time of the year. It's all good in theory that I would do homework while I'm away but I'm kidding myself, it's vacation I'm not doing homework. It's a glorious idea to want to stay the entire time but financially it's not possible. I have college tuition, books, and I still like to go on vacation with Omar as well. I take more than one vacation a year so a budget that's normally set aside for one vacation is sometimes split between three or four. I'm not trying to be Ebenezer Scrooge here but I don't want to totally break the bank just to go on vacation. American Express is a fantastic company but it doesn't pay that well. So thanks for listening to my soapbox. Or maybe venting. One or the other. ![]()

Disneyland guests have Priority boarding on the Monorail when leaving the park. I find staying on property just adds that special touch of magic.

Re: Please sell me on Disneyland Resort, Please!
I have stayed on property previously, and I stayed at the Candy Cane Inn this past July. The Candy Cane Inn was much less expensive, no resort fee, included free wireless and a continental breakfast. No parking charges.
That is where I stayed, and I couldn't have been more pleased with it. All a 10 minute walk from the parks. I would love to stay at the GC someday, but it would have to be a great deal. That said, I've stayed at the PP previously, and really enjoyed the resort. Denise |

Re: Please sell me on Disneyland Resort, Please!
You'll love Disneyland. It's about 1 sq. mile and you walk to everything (no buses). Since it's small you will need less days to see everything, but the Magic is still there and as someone said "it's the original"! The resorts (there are 3) are all great and worth the money.

Re: Please sell me on Disneyland Resort, Please!
I can't say enough about disneyland, I LOVE it there. We are frequent guests and have stayed in a variety of hotels. The Candy Cane is great. It is clean, affordable, and close to Disneyland. The Paradise Pier is a nice hotel, little more upscale than the Candy Cane. My favorite hotel of ALL is the Grand Californian. You feel like you are part of the park while you are staying there. California Adventure is my favorite park, just because it seems geared more to older kids and adults, plus I Love Soarin over California, Grizzly River Run, and Tower of Terror. But Disneyland is spectular as well. We made the trip to Disney World last year and I was really looking forward to it, but after we got there, we wished we would have went to Disneyland instead. I believe they are revamping California Adventure now. You will LOVE Disneyland.
