Club 33 Dinner on eBay!!!

I was AMAZED last night when I saw dinner for six people at Club 33 on eBay -- I watched the bidding, and the winning bid was $998! Wow!!! I can't believe the price! But even though the money was really HUGE, I wish I was one of the people going to dinner there!

LOL! What do you suppose a place like Club 33 would do with crashers? Maybe give you a Mickey bar and politely ask you to step outside?

Personally, I don't like the idea of people selling a dinner ticket to Club 33. It should remain as it was intended. Invitation only.

LOL, $998 and it doesn't include the price of the meal. You can see the auction here:

Club 33 Auction

The sellers states that he bought it at a silent auction, which means to me that Disney most likely donated it to the auction. I am pretty sure members are not allowed to sell access like this, they would lose their membership.

Re: Club 33 Dinner on eBay!!!

I'm surprise Disney didn't make the stipulation that only the original bidder would be allowed entry.....Seems a little dishonest to try an make a buck after "winning" it in auction at a charity event.

Depending on what you order, it will run $50 - $75 per person, without drinks.

Darn! I wish I would have known about this before it ended. This could have been the ultimate factor in our decision on going to WDW or DL in November.

Re: Club 33 Dinner on eBay!!!

This just really bugs me. Yes, members can have guests and don't even have to be there for the guests (my parents have gotten in this way, I've never been so fortunate), but this just seems so wrong! I know, not unethical, not outside the rules (I'm guessing), not immoral... but just not in the spirit of the whole thing, either.

Hmmmph.

Re: Club 33 Dinner on eBay!!!

I'm kind of in the same boat as Andrea about that auction. It's just...I don't know...I don't like it. Club 33 is a huge privilege, and I feel like the person selling this certificate is cheapening it.

Re: Club 33 Dinner on eBay!!!

Thought....there are quite a few Corporate Memberships for Clubb 33, Clietn perk, I am sure. it would seem highly unlikely that the Member would be available to host the guest every time. Personally, i would love to know anyone with a membership. I would have no problem going to The Club alone.
