My family will be in DL from 12/4 thru 12/11, so where should we eat?
The only place I have on the list as a "FOR SURE" is The Blue Bayou, so what other places should be on that list??? And I am open to offsite places too... ![]() Keep in mind, I have a DD2, DS7 and DD9...

Re: What should my family try?
Although I have not eaten at any of these, for our trip in a few weeks we have the following reservations: Blue Bayou for lunch, Thanksgiving Dinner at the Disneyland Hotel, Ariel's Grotto and Goofy's Kitchen. My brother and his family have been to these many times and really liked them. I will let you know after my trip. Also, we are going to the Midieval Times. My DS (10) is really looking forward to that one. We will also probably go to the Rainforest Cafe. DS loves it there.

Re: What should my family try?
I'd make several Bayou reservations!
Hey, it's not like it's not already really loud in there, so the kids can feel right at home. And remember to hit the Bengal Barbecue at lunchtime- it closes early (and erratically!) and you don't want to miss those yummy yummy chicken skewers.

Re: What should my family try?
And the beef skewers are yummy too. Spicier than the chicken, but good.
I like the Storyteller's Cafe in the Grand Californian better than Goofy's Kitchen myself. Get soup in a bread bowl somewhere - they have it in New Orleans Square somewhere and also at the Boudin (sp?) something in DCA. If it's still there, the coffee/bakery place in Downtown Disney makes a mean latte. Speaking of which, inside the parks they usually have an eggnog latte at Christmastime that is yummy, if you like eggnog.... mixed with coffee. :) The big restaurant in Frontierland (can you tell I am awful with names?) is someplace we often go for lunch... they have pretty much the same food as everywhere else, but it's hardly ever very crowded, the decks have plenty of room for busy little ones to wander around without bothering anyone or getting out of your sight, and sometimes you can see some wild kitty-cats. The Golden Horseshoe can be fun, if your kids are either big enough to watch the show without getting bored or small enough to sleep through it in the stroller. And, if the 11th is your last day in the parks and not a traveling day for you, it's our first day, if you would like to meet up and say hi, let me know. :)

Re: What should my family try?
We love the plaza inn, and for off site we are just crazy about Millies, it's across harbor from the park, portions are big and prices are low. Oh and we also love Joes crab shack, down harbor.

Re: What should my family try?
Oooo ooo ooo, make sure to get a Mickey Mouse sourdough head!! They are soooo good!! Sometimes they sell them off of a cart outside of the DL gates but I usually get them in the bread bakery in DCA (can't remember the name of it right now).

Re: What should my family try?
Our favorite DL dining "secret" is the Carnation Cafe. It is one of only 2 sit downs inside the park itself (the Blue Bayou is the other) that takes priority seating. It typically closes at 3, so you are talking about lunch, but it is in the shade, is near a bathroom, and it has free drink refills. Even if the food stunk, not having to wait for a seat in the shade with all you can drink in the middle of the day is worth it.
The food is pretty good, though. There are a number of sandwich combinations you can get there and it is one of the few places inside the park that serves mac and cheese for the kiddies in your party. They also serve a PB&J on a painters palette with little add-ons so you can build your own, which a lot of kids also like. Good desserts too and the Blue Ribbon Bakery is next door if you don't find anything on the menu you like.
