Help me make some Disneyland ADRs!

I just realized that I can make my Disneyland ADRs on Wednesday. Daniel and I really have NO dining plans yet and since this will be Daniel's first time staying on Disneyland property I want him to experience some things we haven't before at the DL Resort. The only "sit down" restuarant Daniel has ever eaten at was Blue Bayou in '03, which he loved, but it's getting a tad old for me. So, suggestions please!! We are up for breakfast, lunch, OR dinners. We will be there 4 days, staying at GC.

* Blue Bayou: I've done 3 times, D only once; he liked it, I am getting a little tired of it.

* Goofy's Kitchen: I've done, LOVED IT! D has never been.

* Ariel's Grotto: D has never been, I love it 'cause you get cotton candy after dinner

* Storyteller's Cafe: Only went for breakfast, LOVED IT! D has never been.

Neither of us have EVER tried:

* Steakhouse 55
* Hook's Pointe
* Napa Rose
* Carnation Cafe
* The Vineyard Room
* Wine Country Trattoria
* Catal
* Jazz Kitchen
* Tortilla Joe's
* PCH Grill
* Yamabuki

(Oh, and Rain Forest Cafe & House of Blues restaurant are totally out. We really don't like either)

WHOOPS, I just looked at some of the menus at allears.net; Hook's Pointe & Yamabuki are out 'cause I don't eat seafood at all.

These are the restaurants I've eaten at. Pull up my trip reports if you want the play by play!

* Blue Bayou For me it was a must. Now not so much. Lunch only.
* Napa Rose If you do not eat a dinner here you will regret it. A+++
* Carnation Cafe Very good breakfast eatery. Always nice
* Wine Country Trattoria Very nice, especially on a sunny day..
* Catal Good for breakfast or lunch..
* Jazz Kitchen Last trip in October we ate there 5 times.
* Tortilla Joe's - Caught them on a bad day and seated between zones. We waited. And waited.. And waited.. The Manager realized the problem and corrected it immediately.
* Yamabuki Good sushi, bad service..

I hear good things about Jazz Kitchen & of course I REALLY think we're going to regret it if we don't do Napa Rose again. I think Napa Rose is going to be a must, especially since we'll be staying at the GC.

What is Plaza Inn like? On the DL website it calls it a "buffeteria" but on allears it looks like a VERY limited menu.

The Plaza Inn does character breakfasts.. Mommies and Daddies paying big bucks for their little ones to have one on one with Mickey and Minnie!

Unless you are up for the basic breakfast buffet, I would spend time doing breakfast offsite or in Downtown Disney..

Re: Help me make some Disneyland ADRs!

PS: are all Disneyland table service restuarants 60 days in advance for PSs? I am assuming I should call for Napa Rose as soon and my window opens for a Saturday night, right?

Sixty Days is the window.

I have never had a problem getting a ressie at Napa Rose. Blue Bayou was much more problematic. But I would call for Saturday Night just to be sure.

Napa Rose was great.

We also really enjoyed Riverbelle Terrace. Of course you do not need an ADR for it.. but it is an option. Fantastic sandwiches... in fact for us the best sandwiches in Disneyland!

We did that last year and even though I am not much of a breakfast person I LOVED it! All of the food seemed so fresh & yummy, the characters were plentiful, and you are right the service was GREAT!

Re: Help me make some Disneyland ADRs!

Wasn't too impressed with Tortilla Joe's the last time I went. Service was not too good and food was a bit disappointing. Love Storyteller's for breakfast or dinner...great filet mignon there! Goofy's Kitchen is always fun.
Vineyard room was absolutely fantastic when I tried it a few years ago. I really like Yamabuki..and they do have things other than seafood on their menu. Had no problem with service when I tried it.
I also really like La Brea Bakery for breakfast or lunch..mmmm

La Brea Bakery is a wonderful place for a light breakfast or lunch!

No ADR required, but it's worth the time to sit and people watch!

Re: Help me make some Disneyland ADRs!

The 'buffeteria' in the Plaza Inn description is telling you that you go into the restaurant, pick up a try and go to a station to pick what you'd like, then pay for your food and be seated...not a TS, more like a WDW food court I suppose. I used to like their fried chicken a lot, but last time it was just okay. Same with their cobb salad.

Have you ever had breakfast at the River Bell Terrace in DL? It is in the end of the building where Frontier Land, Adventureland and New Orelans square all come together. The patio is my favorite place to sit with a cup of coffee and a stack of pancakes or an enormous fruit platter and cinnamon roll and watch the park wake up. Go early, at park opening or you'll have a long wait. If there is no line hop on Indy before breaky (if you are up for it)! Or grab a FP on your way to the restaurant. You can enter from the Treehouse side of the building (small door), or at the front of the building that faces the water.
