LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The Disneyland Resort in California will close three "quick service" restaurants that serve McDonald's Corp (MCD.N) fast food as part of a "planned refurbishment," a Disneyland spokeswoman said on Thursday.

The three walk-up kiosks will close on September 2 and will reopen at an undisclosed date "with other theming and branding," Disneyland spokeswoman Lisa Haines said.

"We are considering a number of different concept options," Haines said.

The Walt Disney Co (DIS.N), which ended a long-time movie promotions partnership with McDonald's after the 2006 release of "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest," will continue to operate three McDonald's-branded eateries at its Walt Disney World resort in Florida, Haines said.

In recent years, Disney has launched a healthy snack foods line for children and has broadened the meal menus at its parks to include healthy choices such as sliced fruits instead of french fries or potato chips, and waters in place of sodas.

While McDonald's and other fast food chains have taken steps to make their food healthier, the Center for Science and the Public Interest reported this week that 90 percent of their kids' meals have too many calories and too much fat and salt.

I'm certainly not heartbroken over this. I never found the McD's stuff in the park worth my while. Cost more than regular McD's ... and just not that good. If I'm in the park .. I'm gonna have park food! :)

I don't mind this at all, I wish they would get rid of 'em in WDW too. The one thing about Disneyland and these MCDonald's kiosks... they were SO well camouflaged, I never even really saw them! AT ALL! I just don't get why you'd want McDonald's when Disneyland has the most amazing counter service restaurants & fruit/vegi carts.

I'll be the first to admit I enjoy McD's fries as a guilty pleasure every now & then but NOT, and never, in a Disney park.

I love McDonald's fries but never at WDW, there are too many better places to eat. My DS is another story..........

I will admit that I will miss the french fry carts We didn't stop there often, but every once in a while we'd share some french fries as a snack on the go. Guess we'll just have to snack on something else!

I am a fan of McDonald's fries, but I generall avoid fast food unless we are desperate and/or on the road for a group trip. (School/church trips, for example.) I wouldn't miss them, and after going to DL and noticing at least two carts of fresh fruits and veggies, I will not complain if WDW does the same!! Let's hear it for good health!!
