The Vineyard Room

In surfing I read a review that indicated that for dinner it's a mandatory 4-course meal, which is ok, but that everyone in their group had to pick the same thing. Does anyone know how that works? Rafikiman & I generally do have the same tastes, but often we each want to order something different & share. Anyone been there???

RE: Vineyard

The Vineyard has excellent food, I wasn't aware that you had to have the four course meal. We ate in the late afternoon and had a regular menu. The wait time for "reservation" was 20 mins. Sure beat standing in line and sitting outside. The prices were reasonable too, so that was amazing.

First of all, welcome to DC. I know you'll love it here. Thanks for the info on Vineyard. I read somewhere that lunch was "a la carte" but that dinner was a 4-course thing. Guess I'll find out when I call for reservations. Glad to hear you enjoyed it, though. We're really looking forward to it.

When we ate at the Vineyard room nearly 2 years ago, you chose between 3 and 4 course meals, but everyone got to choose their own dish with each course (nice, 'cause that way you can also try different things if your dinner companions will share!).
:p

They also offer an excellent choice of wine (of course!) - you can either order specific bottles, or try flights of certain wine types or from specific vineyards. They also had a wine-paring option where they had a couple of pre-selected wines to go with each dish you chose... we did that one. While the whole thing was a little on the spendy side, it was one of the best meals I've EVER had (and I've had the opportunity to dine at some very nice places). Plus, our waiter was very knowledgable about the wines... and pretty darn cute too!

Thanks for the info yesimaprncss. It's getting close now to when I can make our reservations & I can't wait. I think I'll use my Disney Reward Dollars for the Vineyard Room...a great meal & I won't really have to pay for it!!! It MUST be magic!

:D Do they still do the wine-tasting in the courtyard just outside the restaurant in CA?

It was a LOT of fun last time we went - and a great break from walking around the parks. Our Wine guide was very friendly and knowledgeable about the wines and we found a new favorite table wine while we were there (Big House Red from the Santa Cruz mountains - its yummy!)

It surprised me that it was even offered, its so...
un-Walt Disneylike!! But it was great fun!!

Yes, they do still do the wine-tasting in the Seasons of the Vine area. (And Big Red House is a good wine!) :D

An interesting fact/observation - as we all know, there is no alcohol served in Disneyland or the Magic Kingdom (can't speak to what they allow at the international parks). I believe the exception is Club 33 in DL (although since I've never been inside, I'm going on what I've read. Someday I'll find out for myself!) ;)

But the other US parks - Disney's California Adventure, Animal Kingdom, Disney/MGM, and Epcot - do allow alcoholic beverages. I remember my first trip to WDW and was stunned to have beer vendors walking around during the Fantasmic! pre-show (I don't think that was appropriate). But I do like having the opportunity to have a drink with dinner at some of the nicer restaurants in the parks (i.e., The Brown Derby) or to enhance the experience of an attraction - like Seasons of the Vine, or having a margarita in Epcot's Mexico (or a beer in Germany, or wine in France). Just make sure you spread those "experiences" out, or you may have problems remembering parts of your trip! Tee hee!
