Favorite thing to do in Disneyland?

I'm sure many of you have figured out that my favorite thing to do is probably quite different than most of you...I like to shop.

Seriously, I've gone so far as to go alone just so I can hit the stores uninterrupted.

I like Disney Clothiers for all of us - I spend quite a bit there. I have a ton of clothing from there. Not just for me, but for my dh too (there is a mens and a women's shop there) and the adjacent children's clothiers gets my business too. When the Disney Store stopped selling quality clothes (in the store, not catalog), I turned to the Clothiers and I really like what they have.

I also like the Classic Pooh store in Critter Country. I'm a big Pooh fan.

The princess store/costume shop in the castle I love as well. They used to sell Beanie Babies in there and I started frequenting it way back then.

The store right across from Jungle Cruise has a ton of cool things. I've bought a lot for my house there. For instance, I have a big elephant from there that is in my kid's bathroom, which is safari-themed.

I love the Christmas store in New Orleans Square for ornaments. I try to buy a new one each year.

The Star Wars store adjacent to Star Traders is always a great place to find something unique for my son, a huge Star Wars fan.

What is your favorite activity in DL? Ride the rides, walk around, see the shows, eat, shop, people watch? If you only had two hours in Disneyland...what would you do with that time?

My most favorite thing in DL is to be around the castle. I love walking around it, getting closer looks at it and all the details . Its just a wonderful/beautiful castle. I just love walking around it and looking at it. I know Im weird but I love architecture and it has just a great and beautiful look. I also love walking down Main Street and doing the same with all the buildings.

Re: Favorite thing to do in Disneyland?

Disneyland is such a special place. Although I worked at Walt Disney World, and spend most of my vacations there, Disneyland is still the best. You can really feel walt's presence there. It's just a beautiful park, rich in history. One of my favorite places is the Snow White Grotto tucked next to the castle. It's a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the crowds. When you're there, be sure to make a wish!

I agree with you there! We've witnessed a wedding or two in that spot as well.

ETA I just found a nice picture of it:

It doesn't show the wishing well but that is right there as well.

I LOVE to everything at Disneyland but the one thing I love to do that is different is go to thewater dancing laser light show at the DL hotel everynight. It is a small dancing water laser light show but talk about MAGIC! I cry every time we watch it. It is so neat and has great music.
If you have never been make the time it is sooooo worth it!

Re: Favorite thing to do in Disneyland?

2 HOURS??? That's it?? Just the thought of that makes me panic...I can't imagine spending that little time there. But, if that is all I have I would have to say that I would spend it shopping. (People think I'm crazy for spending 5 days there, wondering what you could possibly do for that long )!!

Re: Favorite thing to do in Disneyland?

This is funny, I realize my favorite thing to do in DL is EAT!!! Sad, but true I like to shop, ride the rides and people watch, but the food makes the trip.

If I only had 2 hours, I'd have to go first to the River Belle for pancakes. Then to Bengal BBQ for a few skewers. I'd have a CORN DOG!!! And a few churros. I'd eat a Monte Cristo at Blue Bayou, and then a cheese burger at the Hungy Bear. I would have to squeeze in fried chicken from the Plaza Inn and wash it all down with a sundae and a Mickey Ice Cream Bar. Along the way I'd stop by First Aid for some antacid. I almost forgot those HUGE chocolate dipped strawberries!

In reality, I couldn't make it past the corn dog.

The water lazer show at the DL Hotel is something amazing and I also to love it. Thats something they should do on the Paradise Pier Bay at DCA in the evening only bigger and with lots of color and moving water lazers....like the one at that hotel in Vegas. That would bring alot of people in DCA.

Thats one thing that my mom never forgets when she goes to DLR with me and my bro. She can get heart burn from just about anything. From chocolate to popcorn, like I said...anything. lol. :-)

Re: Favorite thing to do in Disneyland?

I used to like to eat pineapple at the Dole stand near the Tiki Room. I haven't been to DL in quite awhile, that stand still there?

I'm pretty sure it is. Not too much has changed in that area.
