Cast Member Experiences
Has anyone ever had a good cast member experience? Where a castmember joked with you while waiting in line, came up and talked to you (just for fun) Or maybe "you" went and joked with a CM?
Once as me and my family got into the jeeps of Indiana Jones, (my uncle sitting on the right side, wearing a Grey Hound Bus driver shirt) The cast member saw my uncle's shirt. He knew that, in the ride, the snake lunged at the Jeep from the right side. As he told everyone to buckle up etc. he mentioned at the end. "Watch out for giant snakes, they especially like to eat grey hound bus drivers" Our family had a good laugh Another time... A cast member came up to our family and Just GAVE us fast passes! It was so cool! I have tons more, but can't think of 'em right now. So Post some of yours ![]()

Re: Cast Member Experiences
I'm waiting for a certain castmember to get his butt back here with my burrito from Baja Fresh....
Seriously though... One night we were in the queue area for Innovations and the park was dead empty (end of January). And it was late, at about 9 pm. Mickey was just wandering around Tomorrowland by himself, and he went up to the area next to the queue and played peek-a-boo with my then-infant daughter. That was cool. My daughter also took her first steps towards Mickey (no joke!). (Different day) A good friend of mine has a cute story of her dd seeing Mickey waaaay down Main Street and she took off running after him (she was 1). Mickey bent down to catch her and my friend gasped "Thank you!" and you could hear a little "you're welcome." (They're not supposed to talk) My grilled vegetarian is here... |

Re: Cast Member Experiences
[quote=KentB3]She took her first steps toward Mickey? THAT is true Disney Magic, and possible one of the most moving Disney experiences imaginable!
Not really. There used to be a WDW commercial showing a family waiting to go to WDW until their baby could walk. Finally they stopped waiting and went, and lo and behold the baby took her first steps towards Mickey. Well, that commercial was running right about the time that our daughter was *just* about ready to walk, and we knew it. She was standing on her own without holding onto anything. We were at Disneyland one day and my dh decided to put her down in front of Mickey to stand, a few feet away, presumably inspired by that commercial. Mickey knelt down and waved her towards him, and sure enough, she took a step, and then another. Then she fell down on her diapered butt. The collective "awwwwww" was quite magical though....then the collective "oops!" LOL |

Re: Cast Member Experiences
This happened almost 20 years ago. On our first trip to Disney, our son who was almost three, turned into the evil child. I think it has something to do with airplane air. Things he never did at home, he got into at Disney. We have pictures of my husband with a pile of silverware in front of him because our son kept grabbing it and making "airplanes" (holding them crossed). Well, at one meal at epcot, he was going crazy and a water glass was knocked over. It was a mess, I started crying, my dream trip was turning into a nightmare. A server came over, took some things away. And then placed a few cloth napkins over the wet spot saying "it's just like patching a tire, there, good as new," and then turned to me and said "you look like you could use some coffee." It doesn't sound like much, but to me it was a very kind act. He could have complained what a mess my kid was making, why can't they control that kid, etc. Hopefully he was rewarded by the letter I wrote to disney.
I know there's more but that one just came to mind. |

Re: Cast Member Experiences
I took DS to disney when he was 6 months old - my soon to be XDH and I took him to dinner at CP - he totally went nuts when pooh, tigger and company came over - I am conviced he recognized them from his mobile at home - Anyway, after eating some mashed potatoes, the darling child proceeded to throw up all over me (the joys of motherhood.
I ran next door to the closest shop I could find - a very sympathetic CM saw me coming, met me at the door with a plastic bag and said just go into the changing room I'll have something for you in a minute. She brought me a shirt to change into and then even gave me a discount when she rang it up.

Re: Cast Member Experiences
Mine aren't anything spectacular... in fact I'm sure they happen to a lot of people. But once I went to WDW when it was my birthday, and a CM at the Haunted Mansion led me straight to the front of the line through some sneaky secret back door thing. I just felt cool going through the "servant's quarters"...
And on the last trip, a CM at Thunder Mountain, a really sweet older man, saw my brother's birthday pin and started a convo with us as we were getting in the little train. As the ride was about to start, he asked my brother if it was his favorite ride and he said yes. So the CM gave him a fastpass good for him and a guest to come right back through! Those experiences aren't really anything special, but all those little things they do really add up. :)

I have never been quiet about my love for the Yellow People on the boat (to save the queston of what they are- they are the CM that keep the kids happy on the boat in the kids centers) I have never felt safer leaving them anywhere!

Re: Cast Member Experiences
I think the most amazing CM experience we had was in August 2000. It was raining and we were waiting for the Parade at Epocot one evening. My DD was only 5 and tired since she normally falls asleep early and we were trying to get her to stay up a little later for the parade (which she fell aslep during anyway). We rushed into the temporary pavillion they had set up for the 2000 celebration, and since we were pushing DD in an umbrella stroller the CM told us as we entered that we would have to fold it up in the pavillion and have her walk. We started to do this, and she told us to wait a minute and she disappeared behind a door. We couldn't understand why we were waiting because we were already in the process of folding up the stroller like she had asked, but we waited a minute anyway. After a little while she reappeared with a towel and explained that it was air conditioned in the pavillion and DDs legs were damp from the rain, and she dried them off for her! That was just so amazing. I don't think I will ever forget that!

Re: Cast Member Experiences
My most amazing CM interaction was my last birthday. I had gone into American Adventure early to get a seat for Voices of Liberty, and they were still out from the previous performance talking to the audience. One of the singers noticed my birthday button and asked what my name was. I told them and the next performance they sang Happy Birthday to me. That was so cool!!!!!
