Re: Best tip for Christmas

First I want to say Welcome to DC!!!!
I love it at Christmas, The only tip I can give is to set up meeting places in case you get separated. It gets really crowded the week before christmas. Also be sure to hit the fast pass for Indiana Jones when you first arrive and then head over to Pirates or the Mansion. then you can head back to Indy when it's time. The fast Passes tend to run out on this one early and the lines can get extremely long.

Re: Best tip for Christmas

I would highly recommend that you have a plan. What rides, shows etc do you each feel are must-sees? You will not be able to do everything and will have to deal with crowds etc. I would say get the Magic Kingdom out of the way early, hopefully before everyone else arrives in Orlando. Is there anyway you can get your 15 yr old out of bed early on vacation? We find that we can often get more done in the first two hours than the rest of the day. If that doesn't work take advantage of the late hours that the MK is open. If there are 2 spectromagic shows and Wishes, hopefully the folks with little ones will leave after Wishes and you can get some serious ride time in then.

Re: Best tip for Christmas

My only tip is to have dinner at Napa Rose. Its is the best restaurant on the property (in my opinion) You wont regret it.

I think she's going to Disneyland (in CA), not Disneyworld....

Re: Best tip for Christmas

Hit California Adventure earlier in the day, because they close early and Disneyland Park is THE place to be at night.

Catch the Holiday Magic Parade in the afternoon or early evening. Really cute. But no matter what you do or what you plan, be standing in the middle of Main Street at 9:35 pm. Why? The holiday fireworks show is at 9:35 directly followed by 10 minutes of snow on Main Street. You have to be standing in the middle of the street to have the best view of the fireworks AND be snowed on. (Just do as everyone else does)

Both the Haunted Mansion and It's A Small World are totally decked out for the holidays inside and out. Small World looks absolutely spectacular - it's DL's 2nd castle and it's all decked out in lights. HM has the Nightmare Before Christmas theme and Small World's interior is totally decked out with all the dolls dressed for Christmas, and they sing Jingle Bells instead of the regular Small World song.

Be sure to spend some time wandering around New Orleans Square, in the back streets. Lots of hidden Christmas treasures back there. (It's really beautiful)

Re: Best tip for Christmas

Country bears was closed a couple of years ago, and the Winnie the Pooh ride is now in its place. If you want to see the Bears Christmas show you will have to go to WDW.

Re: Best tip for Christmas

Well...faux snow...

It snows for 10 minutes right after the fireworks ends every night, as long as it's not raining. (The snow is actually a non-toxic soap mixture, and they won't do it if the ground is wet, to not make it slippier)

yea, I totally agree....get a map of the resort and make a plan...what are your main goals while there and what things you all really want to do, see, go on, and that sort. I would also highly recommend seeing the x-mas "A Christmas Fantasy Parade" on x-mas morning, its so cool! :-)

Re: Best tip for Christmas

Will all the Christmas happenings still be going on during the week after? We'll be there 27-1st. Does anyone know when the parades are that week?
