Disneyland Railroad fans, can someone tell me what happened on June 14, 1955?

Last year we took the Magic behind the steam trains tour and the CM said that something important regarding the trains in Disneyland happened on June 14, 1955, but I can't remember now. This means a little more to me, as I was born on that day and will be celebrating my 50th at Disneyland. So, can someone who knows Disneyland history tell me the major events of June 14, 1955? Please?

You may be able to find out on a website call "thisdayindisneyhistory". I took the tour 12/7 and not remember.

Bob, our tour leader was great!

Well, I have looked everywhere. The trains were put into service on July 16, 1955, so it isn't that. My guess for that date is either the track was completed around Disneyland, or that was the first test run for the trains.

I have a feeling that "Bob" is the same CM that conducted our tour. He knew everything. Perhaps it's time to exercise my letter writing skills and see if the railroad department knows the answer.
Anyone else have any clues? Keep this thread perking for a few days and we'll see what knowledge Santa brings.

I know what happened....Im not sure if the date is right but around that time one of the trains tipped over, so that was a kind of big event.

No, this was a positive event, a milestone of sorts, like a final decision was made or something. But thanks for trying. I guess we might cross paths when we get there. Disneywife as well, that is the person with the screen name.

Like I said, we'll try to keep this thread perking until Sunday when I'll let it go to sleep.
Merry Christmas to all.

I think I didn't punctuate properly. I was trying to differentiate between you and what is commonly refered to on these boards as DW, my disney wife.
Anyway, I booked for June today. We'll be at the Grand Californian from June 11 through the 16th.
