Hey everyone. Just out of curiosity.....whats happend with the good ol' DLR section? It has well sorry to say...kind of died down/out. Once we were all posting alot and now no one is posting much of any more....hmm... Maybe we just need to get some more exciting posts? I have talked with a few fellow DC'ers and they feel the same way, so I thought I'd post the question...

Well, I haven't posted in a couple of weeks because we headed off to WDW the day after Christmas and purposely left the laptop at home! We got back Monday night, and I'm all rearin' to go now.

Hey, anaheimboy, good to see you back!

Did any of you folks out in So Cal experience the "heavy snow" that was reported? Did it snow at DL? Inquiring minds want to know.

sorry to ruin your fun but it didnt snow in good ol' DLR. Were not really high enough for the snow, plus with DLR being close to the beach its kind of hard to snow....right? or am I wrong? BUT, it did snow closely up in the Grape Vine and surrounding mountains, but and we did have storms down here. And thanks for the welcome back!

Geez, I'd be mad if it snowed in DLR...we can't even get a significant amount of snow up here in Alaska, for Pete's sake! I don't know what's wrong with this winter, but it's as DULL as can possibly be. The other day it was in the FORTIES and RAINING! In ALASKA--IN JANUARY!!! There's supposed to be feet of snow piling on top of each other, but no....we didn't even have snow on Christmas. We had SUNSHINE!

Sorry...had to rant there for a minute.

Disneywife--I can't wait to read your trip report! Please post it soon!

We too, had a brown Christmas...in MinneSNOWta of all places. We keep getting missed by all the snow, it ends up going south of us (to Iowa, Illinois, etc).

I miss the snow.

Hey, DisneyGimper - where are you from in Minn? I lived in Minn for a while, and my family is from there....we're from Northfield.

yea, I'd like to know too. I have some great family friends who live there as well.

It did snow at Disneyland once - well it snowed in Huntington Beach once when I was a kid. For about 10 minutes, but you'd better believe we were outside to experience it! All my dad could say (from MA) was "I don't believe it, I just don't believe it...) I can only assume it snowed in nearby Anaheim too.

But they have faux snow during the holidays! LOL

But yes, So. Cal did experience "heavy snow," but only in those areas that get snow every winter. Those are the areas at the higher elevations, although it has been snowing in areas in Moreno Valley and Lake Elsinore but not sticking. Our local mountains have gotten something like 60 inches just this week and there is more coming!

Not to reveal where I live, but I live just a few minutes from snow that sticks. And I'm about 20-30 minutes from DL - so it does snow nearby.

very very cool! Sounds quiet exciting. I have an idea of the area you live in, I'd be glad to tell you guys the main area I live in, head down one of the streets off of Katella and about 3 or so blocks down you'll turn onto another street then onto a cold-e-sack area, and I'm in that area.....do u kind of know where Im talking about?

Well, it would depend on which direction you are going in, but I have an idea since you told me where you went to elementary school, and I know the Anaheim district quite well, after 8 years of teaching there!

If you are 16 now, you (I'm guessing) would have been in kindergarten in 1993/1994 school year (right?) - that was my first year of teaching, and I taught kindergarten at Jefferson. But I was *this close* to taking a job at your school - they offered it to me... I could've been your teacher. LOL
