Re: Mrdisneyfan in Club 33 Lobby

I forgot that I was wearing that shirt, and a CM came up to me and said "You know, I just need to tell you this, maybe you heard it before" ....I had no idea where he was going with this...and then he said "but I really need to say this, your Increadible" I Fell over laughing!
I really wanted to go upstairs and have lunch. It is a bit pricey seeing as you need to pay such a steep annual due

Yea, the dinners are really good. We had the Mothers Day Buffet there once, it had alot of selection and was pretty good.

Re: Mrdisneyfan in Club 33 Lobby

I was wondering if there was a way to see Club 33 without being a member - I guess taking the Walk in Walts Footsteps tour is the way? Is that tour offered every day?

I think they only show you the lobby, and that's it. Everything else is upstairs (up that lift).

I'm pretty sure it's offered every day, and I've heard it's really good. I think it's $50 - maybe someone else can clarify that.

Funny, but I was listening to an insider thing on Club 33 today. Walt was touring New Orleans to find stuff for the club he had decided to build in Disneyland, and found this great lift in a hotel. Well, the hotel refused to sell it, so Walt hired a company to hand build a new lift to exact specifications of the lift in the hotel. So, while not an antique, it has a great history.

I have now had to twice turn down an invite because of previous commitments. Next time I get an invite, I will be there for sure.

Re: Mrdisneyfan in Club 33 Lobby

DS and I took the tour in May and we understood the lift was a copy of one in a Parisian Hotel where the Disneys stayed once. The girls played in it so much the management finally asked the Disneys to make them stop. They tried to buy the lift and the hotel said no so Walt sent imagineers to take exact measurements and make an exact copy. Diane Disney thought it was the original when she saw it for the first time.

That's the story we heard on the tour.
