Icon5 Is this realistic

I am going to Disneyland for the first time in March and I would love to see the Electrical Parade, Fantasmic and the Fireworks. Unfortunately they only are on Friday, (we won't be there Saturday. On the Disney website this is the schedule. How long do each last?

Electrical Parade 8:45
Fireworks 9:25
Fantasmic 10:00

Re: Is this realistic

WEll, The electric parade is about 15 minutes long. The sound track is 13 minutes long, so the parade 'may' be slightly longer. So I'm just estimating.

If you watched the electrical parade from Sunshine plaza on the side closest to the exit you could get over to Disneyland pretty fast. The fireworks are only about 10 minutes long so they should be over by about 9:35- 9:40. That gives you 20 minutes to head over to Fantasmic. And with how big the crowds are to Fantasmic they may not let you into the area... But if you do get into the area you wouldnt have a very good view, but it's still well worth it! I think it's possible.

Fantasmic! is about oh like 15-20 minutes long, or so I remember, maybe a bit longer. But if I recall there wont be any fireworks showing until May 5th. But you can still see The Electric Light Parade and Fantasmic!. They are really great, you'll like them. :-)

Re: Is this realistic

Yes, but since the Electrical Parade and the fireworks are in two different parks, you'll really have to plan yourselves and walk fast.

For the Electric Parade position yourselves along the parade route closest to the DCA gate. Then, as soon as it's over, book it out of the park, no potty stops or anything, because if you wind up far back in the line to get into DL, you'll be waiting there for a while, and you still have to go through security and all that. Once inside DL head up main street and get to the closest to the castle as you can get. You may not make it to the end of main street before the fireworks start, but if you don't, you'll still have a good view.

If you can position yourselves as far left as you can, as soon as as the fireworks are over head into Adventureland to make your way over to Fantasmic. You won't make it to the front that late in the game but with some quick swervy walking, you should be able to get close.

After Fantasmic is over, everyone will start moving towards the main gate. Getting out of New Orleans Square just after Fantasmic ends is a joke. Even if you are planning on leaving at that time, sit down and wait it out for 10-15 minutes. When the crowds starts to die down, then get up and go.

Just so you know, you will be meeting with some huge crowds at all 3 of these events, and everyone will be moving in the same direction as you (incl. the transition from DCA to DL at 9 pm).

I know you recomended to stand near the castle for the fireworks so you can get to The Rivers of America fast but just for future reference of anyone, I think for the best viewing of the fireworks over the castle is near the train station, middle of Main Street, or at the end of Main Street. I feel the closer to the castle the higher you have to look up and your neck starts to hurt a bit and the fireworks dont look like they go as high as they really do. But this is just my opinion and a future reference for anyone.

Re: Is this realistic

Im not sure of the times (when you go be sure to check on your Disneyland/California Adventure section of the park map for Parade times) but there is usually/always one in the late morning sometime and usually one in the evening. The one in the morning goes down MS twords the train station (my favorite) and the one in the evening goes down MS back twords the castle. You can also go to disneyland.com and check for parade times or give the resort a call.
