Crowns on the Castle?

I read on MousePlanet.com that the 5 crowns have been added onto Sleeping Beauty Castle. I wont have time in the next few days or so to head over to see for myself and I was wondering if any of you would know if this was true or comfirm this? I know this was really stupid to post but I was curious and bored....

Re: Crowns on the Castle?

I had to shrink the picture. You may not be able to see them, this is from a week ago. I wish I could download a bigger picture. This is from WDW.

I hope you can see the Castle.

Re: Crowns on the Castle?

yea me too. I purposly called the resorts live number today to ask myself and I got an answer of "oh no, not yet. One of the main points of Disneyland being closed May 4th is to do the castle." But I honestly dont think its true. The point of May 4th is so all the media and stuff can get set up and they can re-stock everything and finish everything for the park. I dont really think any of the live reps really know whats going on with the castle and are just told to say the castle will be done on May 4th. I really do think the crowns have been put on. Just give it a few days and Im sure on of the Disney fan sites will have some sort of update with a picture or two of the castle.

Thanks for the pic MJD, I have seen many of them from Disney sites. But I think you were confused (?) we were talking about Disneyland's Sleeping Beauty Castle.

Re: Crowns on the Castle?

I thought that. There are some type of crownes being installed in WDW. Its actually pretty cool. I think the castle in WDW looks better with the updates.

Re: Crowns on the Castle?

yea the things on WDW's castle are like a gold guilding on the roofs, not really crowns. But their cool. I cant wait to see DLR's castle all finished, or at least starting up!

Re: Crowns on the Castle?

its been kind of going off and on. First the re-painting of it, then they added a little crown type thing to the square tourret, then they added the new railing type things to the front walls, and now I guess the 5 main crowns have been added....hopefully now it will kick into full gear and they will finish it!

Re: Crowns on the Castle?

ok yall, to put an end to the confusion....I just called the main head quarters for Mouseplanet.com here in LA and I asked about the crowns. The lady I had spoken to said the actual crowns hadent yet been actually put on but you can see the bases for them being put on (which means they will be actually on soon). So I thought I might let all of you curious people know.

Re: Crowns on the Castle?

Only Disneyland is getting the crowns. There will be 5 crowns each representing a decade in Disneyland history.

WDW is getting the gold filigree and changing tapestries, each representing the 5 Disney resorts (WDW, DLR, DL Paris, Tokyo, and soon, Hong Kong).

The castles will look quite different from each other. And, WDW and DL are the only parks getting castle overlays. Paris and Tokyo aren't. (Hong Kong doesn't open until September.)
