A Fantasy in the Sky 2005

Hey everyone. I made it over to DLR last night to see the new "A Fantasy in the Sky" fireworks. It was pretty cool but quite short. I asked one of the CM's why it was so short and had no into or anything and he said because this is just a firework show they threw together so DLR could test out new fireworks they will be using in "Remember...Dreams Come True". And boy did they have some VERY awsome new fireworks. Just thought I'd let yall know....

Is Fantasy In the Sky similar to WDW's Wishes? Also, how are Disneyland's fireworks better than WDW's? Just wondering!

Fantasy in the Sky is very similar to Wishes, just a different tune. I think the new fireworks show (Remember) will be very different from either of them, however.

When we were at WDW, they were showing Fantasy in the Sky at the midnight fireworks show. So it's not exclusive to Disneyland...at least it wasn't that week.

Re: A Fantasy in the Sky 2005

We are planning on being in WDW in July. Does anyone know what days the fireworks will be shown for the celebration? I was hoping to see it a couple of times, once by the castle, and the other from the beach of the Poly. I remember in the 70's when I was a kid, they used to have them every night, and lasting longer than that of recent years.

You might want to ask this question in the WDW forum. :)

Because they have a completely differnet launching technique which eliminates a LOT of the smoke. And also they are making tons and tons of custom bran new fireworks for this "Remember Dreams come True" show, Fireworks is a big thing at DL I guess. lol

Yea Disneyland uses smokeless launchers for our fireworks. WDW doesnt really need to because they have so much land surrounding them and their not sitting in the LA basin, so they dont have to worry about smoke and polution as much. Meaning ours are a bit more environmently friendly. But all in all they both have their ups and downs.

Are you sure they were showing Fantasy in the Sky? I thought WDW's Magic Kingdom currently shows Wishes for their fireworks show.

What are some of the ups and downs of using smokeless launchers for fireworks?

They ARE showing Wishes.... The week we were there, which was the week between Christmas and New Year's, they were showing TWO fireworks shows every night. The first one was Wishes at 10 pm or so, and the second one, at midnight, was Fantasy in the Sky.

The biggest pro/con (in MHO) is the fact that Disneyland's fireworks can't be launched as high, so they are not as immersive as WDW's at times. When in the MK, just about everyone in the park can see the fireworks, but at Disneyland a lot of areas of the park can *hear* them, they just can't quite see them. Even those watching from the castle have to strain sometimes, because the fireworks end up slightly NEXT to the left side of the castle, rather than directly over the top of it.

But Disneyland does their best to make up for this fault by keep their shows extravagant and (usually) long.
