Lost & Found ROCKS!

This is the second time I've had a terrific experience with Disneyland's Lost & Found!

Lost some sunglasses on Indy (no, I was NOT wearing them!). The cast members at the ride were terrific about searching the cars but had no luck.

Although my friend was extremely skeptical, I filled out a form for them at lost and found, and one week later, I got my envelope from Disneyland with the sunglasses! I had a similar experience many years ago with a lost hat on Matterhorn.

The fact that they do this, and mail the lost items to you free of charge... well, that's just spreading the pixie dust. Both of my lost items were really minor things, but it's this kind of service that makes me feel like a valued guest.

Perhaps a fanny pack is in order. Disney could send you one and save on future shipping costs.

Always nice to hear about exceptional service, especially now a days. Maybe you could write them a thank you letter.

I've heard such great things about the Lost and Found at Disney.

I've never been fortunate enough to lose anything there, so I could try it out!

Re: Lost & Found ROCKS!

Lost & found is awesome!!!!!

One trip I left my camera (a pretty nice one) on the counter while I was paying for something on Main Street... I didn't realize I did it till I was on a bus to AK! I finally got back to the MK, thinking my camera was lost for good since it was kind of hidden from the CM working there and anyone could just slip it into their pocket. But after a little good-natured torture from the CM at lost & found ("Was it this kind? Was it silver? Did it have a strap?..... hmmm don't think I've seen one like that...") he finally went back to look. He came back out with a really apologetic look... and then smiled and handed over my camera!

CM's shouldn't be allowed to mess with you in lost & found... it's nerve-wracking.

Re: Lost & Found ROCKS!

we too had a GREAT Expeience with Lost and Found, DS lost his wallet with money in it, somewhere, we aren't sure where, and went to lost and found on our way out of the park and low and behold it was there with ALL the money still in it!

Re: Lost & Found ROCKS!

I agree Disneyland Lost and Found does rock. When we visited in 2002 we were traveling with two children under the age of ten. One of them happily handed me her spending money to hold for her, the other after arguing with both her mom and myself was allowed to hold her own mini backpack containing her wallet, and I think a hair brush when we entered Disneyland Park. Past experiences with kids losing money everywhere from Sea World to the ice cream shop led me to believe it was a bad idea to let her hold the money in the beginning, but you can't tell other people how to raise their kids. The girl first left her mini backpack on the Alice in Wonderland ride. Which we didn't notice until we were in line for the Matterhorn. We went back and picked it up, they had stashed it in the mushroom near the ride. The second time she lost it, she left it on the Disneyland Railroad. This was a much different story. They clean the trains throughout various times of the day. The train had already turned in left behind items to the Main Street Central Station. Of course, we didn't get to head over there until later, by then, they had sent lost items to lost in found. We were in line for lost and found for quite a long time, nearly an hour, but the park was already closed so what better did we have to do. After asking the little girl some questions once she gave a description (how much money was in the wallet, do you have an id of any kind), etc she got the backpack back. Disneyland lost and found does an awesome job of trying to return items to their rightful owners. And yes, they will mail items to people when they know who the items belong to.

Sea World in San Diego will also mail items to you if you lose them. We have had experiences with their lost and found service as well.

Re: Lost & Found ROCKS!

That's great!

Last time we were at Disneyland my brother set his wallet down somewhere and it was returned right away. Then he lost his phone on Indiana Jones and didn't even realize it. The cast members at lost and found took the battery out of one of their phones because his was dead and called the phone book entries "mom" "dad" and "nana." He got it back and really appreciated all the trouble they went to.

I actually lost my phone yesterday at Magic Kingdom, but I think someone picked it up. :( They probably need it more than I do I guess. Hopefully it will turn up!

Re: Lost & Found ROCKS!

We lost DS's rain jacket last visit, and we had it back safe and sound within a day.
