I'm new here. We have our first official family vacation in 3 weeks at Disneyland. Woohoo!!!!

Anywho, has the electric light parade stopped running? I went into the Disneyland website and looked at their calendar for the dates we will be there and that parade wasn't part of the schedule. They have the schedule for the Block Party Bash and the Parade of Dreams, but no light parade. That's kind of a let down. I was looking forward to seeing it again. I haven't seen it since I was a kid. The trip should still be fun, but I was just curious why it wouldn't be running, especially on a Fri/Sat/or Sun.

I checked it out and Disney's Electrical Parade is on hiatus for the off season, except for a two week run starting December 16.

Too bad, it's always the one thing we want to see the most that is closed for refurbishment eh? So annoying. I'm sure between the new Block Party Bash, Parade of Dreams and Remeber...Dreams Come True Fireworks show you won't miss it too much ;)

Ahh, that's too bad. Yeah, we will definitely have enough other things to see, but I would have loved to see it. I guess I can listen to the song from DL's website and pretend.

I checked the schedule again and there's also Fantasmic. I haven't seen it as of yet. That should be cool.

I made priority seating for Goofy's Kitchen and the Blue Bayou. So, we're all looking forward to that.

With regard to the fireworks show.....remember to get your space early and try to be at the end of Main Street...if not in front of the castle.

And I am sure your trip will still be fun! The crowds will be much smaller with school in, so keep your chin up! The new shows and current shows are great too!

And to be honest, I have never seen the Electrical Parade... I always go during the off-season or during the years with no Electrical Parade, so it has never been running when I have been there. I guess I don't really know what I am missing.

The Electric Light Parade is neat. I just have to hear a little bit of the song and i remember the feelings I got from watching it has a kid. I remember the lights, the tune, and the costumes twinkling. Someday my kids will get to see it firsthand, just not yet. :-)

Thanks for the fireworks advice. We will definitely get there early. I guess same goes for the Parade of Dreams and Fantasmic.

That's a bummer that the light parade is not running right now. I'm glad you'll still have Fantasmic to look forward to! I LOVE Fantasmic.

If you are there on a night when they run 2 showings of Fantasmic, watch the first one and then remain by the Rivers of America for the fireworks. I know it's not quite the same as being in front of the castle, but it's a FANTASTIC viewing point! You really can see everything, and they turn off all the lights so it's even darker over there than by the castle (which has the Main Street lights to compete with). Makes for a more dramatic effect!

Well, not doin' a whoooole lot to celebrate my birthday...going out with DH and one of my best friends to a movie and probably to a restaurant for some chow and drinks.

Too bad DH has no choice but to be the designated driver...he doesn't turn 21 until October 3rd! Haha.

LOL! thats great! It's only 19 to drink here in Canada :) That will suck for me, as soon as I'm legal here now I want to move to the states where I'll have almost 2 years to wait! :P oh well

BTW, I'm kind of envious of you...I was born and raised in Salem, Oregon. If it weren't for wanting to work for Disney, I never woulda left. Gorgeous area!
